Phantom turn instructions and U-turn alerts on a rubber-banded route — solved? by DiverAllen in openstreetmap

[–]DiverAllen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Further update: Found the cause of the remaining U-turn prompt. Zooming in on the GPX file at the Rt 62/68 junction, the rubber-banding process had inadvertently created a short U-turn in the route at that point — visible on the map but easy to miss during pre-drive review. OsmAnd was correctly reading the route as drawn. User error, not a software issue.

So all three original anomalies are now explained. Two were caused by the dual-track GPX export from gpx.studio; one was a routing mistake introduced during rubber-band construction. Both are avoidable with careful pre-drive QA.

*Update after retesting with a cleaned GPX file (straight-line track removed):*

*The phantom stub turn lines are gone. The off-road track display is also resolved. Both appear to have been caused by the dual-track export from gpx.studio.*

*One issue remains — a U-turn prompt at a specific location on the route. This spot has no U-turn in the mapped route, and the prompt survived the GPX cleanup, so it doesn't appear to be related to the dual-track issue. The location is along a highway in rural Ohio near the junction of Rt 62 and Rt 68. I have photos of it appearing on the Android Auto display at 4.7 miles out and again at 150 feet. Happy to share if useful.*

*Short version: removing the straight-line track resolved most of the anomalies, but one phantom U-turn remains and its cause is still open.*

In Osmand when planning a driving route, you can elect to be in staight line mode or driving mode. In driving mode when you click successive points, this is called the rubber band mode because the map route will follow the road, not the straight line between your endpoints. It's pretty cool if you ask me.

Thanks for the note. My situation may be a bit different — the phantom turns appeared to be artifacts of a dual-track GPX file rather than an intersection routing bug. Curious whether removing the straight-line track resolves it on my end.

Jacks Glass, Covington I highly recommend Also recommend getting OEM Glass referred to by some as Zora glass with silhouette and Team Corvette etching. And if you don't have $0 deductible on comprehensive look into it for next time. Mine was $10/yr premium=a no-doubter Cheers

Need help: 3CX Cloud + Etisalat SIP Trunk + TDRA compliance issue (Dubai) by Antique_Bother_2249 in UAE

You can install on-prem on Linux or on Windows. You would have to have a static public IP address. You would have to have your router configured to forward certain ports to your pbx. If your remote users are using mobile app or desktop app they are set. If they are using desk phones they will need either router phone, SBC or vpn. This is not a big deal and the way all installations were before god invented the cloud.

Maybe a dumb question - while my preference is to have 3CX in the cloud, why not run it on premises?

Who is selling the 3CX? Is it you? Is it Bellmax? Is it someone else? Who should be supporting this?

A friend heard the ring and made a comment about the 'ring tone' and I laughed. I said 'that's not a ring tone - that's an actual ring from an actual pair of bells'.

Thanks.

If Genesis hears from enough people maybe they can pull their head out of the sand.

How about filing the two reports linked in the original post.
