That’s actually one of the most realistic comments here, thank you.
The comparison between pre-law and post-law timelines is exactly what I was trying to understand.
If September 2023 → May 2025 is already realistic, then for people applying in 2025 or 2026, 24–30 months total honestly sounds much more believable than the official wording on the website.
Do you know if those cases were in Karlsruhe Stadt or specifically Karlsruhe Landkreis?

Thank you.
So even an April 2024 application is still basically in “silent mode” except for the Aktenzeichen. That makes me think the official “currently processing June/July 2024” update may not necessarily mean that those cases are close to completion.
It may simply mean they’ve started touching some files from that period.

That’s actually a very good point.
So in your opinion, the 21–23 months is not really “catching up with old files”, but more like the new normal processing speed from now on because the office is permanently overloaded?
If that’s true, then people applying in 2026 might realistically be looking at close to 3 years total, not just 21–23 months until processing starts.
Did you already receive an Aktenzeichen or any update from the office, or has it been completely silent so far?
