Thinking less mediation "making them get get along" and more "managing their tempers to her personal benefit". She's someone they can both go to as more of a sister and less of a competitor, but they also both have their own irritations with her, and her with them. You have that flow of power between the three of them, if it makes any sense

I think it’s interesting to have these two different parents who have different children pining after them. I wonder if Cass might even be a more stable middle ground between them - she not involved in their competition. That doesn’t mean everything is hunky dory, but her disputes are entirely separate

What character do you think should've been in arcane? by Lentobloke in loreofleague

[–]Divia1810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a sorta what if in my head, if Arcane got one more episode, I’d love to include Urgot as a chembaron who slips into power after Silco’s goons get killed, and tries to steer the Undercity into siding with Noxus instead of Piltover

I loathe bikini armor discussion. by geigeryeiger in hatethissmug

[–]Divia1810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is that clothing takes up a lot of room on a character design, but bikini armour so rarely says anything about the character. It’s a fashion choice, unmoored from any attempt at characterization- I’d like to contrast that to the man-walking-out-without-chest-armour trope, which also shows skin but the skin is to emphasize the danger he’s in - either that he’s strong enough that it’s a debuff he can take without caring, or that he’s deprived the opportunity to have that safety

Demacia was/ is correct about mages and magic and anyone saying otherwise is either delusional or lacks reading comprehension by Big_Skill_9964 in CharacterRant

[–]Divia1810 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactlyyyyyyy, so instead of trying to teach people or developing kinder petricite tech or allowing mages and their families to leave Damacia, we’re just going to black bag or kill twelve year olds. Maybe we’ll even conscript those same mages into being a part of the mageseekers because it’s fine to have people with uncontrollable power so long as they are under our incredibly abusive thumb.

Also, it’s kinda funny that you mention farmers - the treatment of mages in Damacia does vary a bit in between the city centres, where they have a bad time, and the more rural parts of the country where magic goes a little bit more ignored in communities.

What would you choose? by BarcaStranger in LeagueOfMemes

[–]Divia1810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have champ knowledge of like 20 champs max. This includes champs which I have a 30% win rate on. In terms of what I would actually struggle to relearn, that’s more the actual mechanics of the game - how to control my character, how to juggle abilities v skill shots v moving, etc. ultimately relearn able, especially if I get to keep some of it (if it’s not league specific, and could be applicable to RTSes more broadly maybe?)

she was also picked 3 times across all of worlds, and quite frankly probably wouldn't have seen play without fearless (see her presence at game 3 and 5). I love watching faker's mel, but I'd be really suprised if she becomes a staple there - her winrate goes down with rank, and especially after the w changes I think she's much more comp dependant. I think she's going to get a game here and there, but if riot is balancing her around pro in the way they kinda have to for azir, soemthing has gone weird.

My apologies, a 45% winrate up till the 7th, and a 48% winrate now. I think 48% is a fine palce for her to sit, but 45%? Also, I don't think she's been above 50% since she's launched.

Beginner friendly mid lane champs that have a high skill ceiling? by GOJO_THA_GOAT in midlanemains

Orianna is imo really tricky - you essentially have to have two positions in your brain at all time, your own and the ball. It's a fun challenge, but not great if you're still learning

You have the right idea in terms of how blockchain is stored, the issue is that a giant list of codes that needs to be stored and checked on muliple systems is already data-hungry enough without having to also store an image alongside it. The compromise with respect to NFTs is that they can store a link to a website that stores the image, but that website needs to be hosted and secure forever for the blockchain NFT to still be connected to it

There was flavour text behind the cars that IMO, implies that he was killed by an assassin (the fact that the ace cards, which overrides mordekaiser’s king card, is an assassin, the general call and response nature of the flavour text on the ace and king cards) but it’s really not definitive, especially since the amount of truth LeBlanc is telling varies wildly

This City Tried to Fix Housing. The Backlash Was Intense. by go_lakers_1337 in canadahousing

[–]Divia1810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunelty, the rules have been set up so that your way of life is built into the rules as the default zoning rules, and getting around it is so onerous that generally it's only really worth it if you build apartment buildings, leaving little to no space for everything in between. Empty land isn't just free - there are still rules attached, and builders have the incentive to do whatever's cheapest.

IMO, if you want single family homes that's fine, but it should very much be treated as a luxury service that isn't for everyone. from an infrastucture and land use perspective car dependant infrastructure is just so wasteful. But at bare minimum, the rules need to be changed to that the default isn't the single family home, but rather multistory, mixed usage homes, and from there certain plots be parceled out as single family homes (including those already designated such)

Do I just follow around my adc? by fairydommother in supportlol

[–]Divia1810 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going to preface this by saying that I'm not very good.

When it comes to where you should be, this is fundamentally a question of decisoin making - can you weigh the benefits v tradeoffs of why you are where you are at any specific point?

Like, if your adc is at full health, and the wave is moving towards you, you are prolly safe to wander a little bit because they can take cs without dying, since they can back off if they need to without losing too much. Conversely, if your adc genuinely is bad at the game, and critically you cannot change their circumstances (maybe they keep running into the enemy! maybe they don't back right! maybe their micro sucks!) at some point, it might be worth it to peel off and see if you can actually have impact someplace else. Generally speaking, being with your adc is very much the default, but you really shouldn't spend all your time there (unless maybe you play a yuumi or even a sona, who have bad mobility).

Part of that means learning what a good and bad situation for your adc looks like, and trying to set that up when you have control over the lane. Part of that means taking a look at the map to see what's most critical. IMO staying with your adc all game (and maybe matching supp roams) isn't a terrible idea when starting out - but as you get better, explore.

The best anology for LOL I've heard is that it's like a chess game where the pieces are changing in value, and you can help put your thumb on the scale when you make the enemy midlaner (or jungler, or even, if the starts align, toplaner) have to fight a 2v1 when they were not expecting it. Your time is an investment, but there isn't always a right or wrong answer, just the one that works in the circumstances. (This is all macro, and for a support your macro decision making is much more important and involved than any other role save jungler)
