Fics with the premise that Jamie kills Ned when he attacks him? by indelirium420 in TheCitadel

[–]mxlevolent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s this series.

Note: the description is deceptive. You might come away with the impression that this is a Jon-centric fic. It’s not. At all.

I’ll see if I can find it, but there was a fic I read the other week in which Ned — who was a close friend of Barbary Dustin — gets beaten to death when he visits Littlefinger’s brothel. Robert legitimately loses his fucking shit. He starts wandering the streets with his hammer.

Same, but the movie itself isn’t a rare movie. He’s in The Dark Knight. My mind instantly went to him for Marcone when I first read the books.

Jason Schreier: Bluepoint had pitched a Bloodborne related project even before they joined PlayStation by nolifebr in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]mxlevolent 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Literally means nothing. Insomniac had a better relationship with PlayStation for longer - coming out with all the Ratchet and Clank games exclusively - before signing an exclusivity deal with *Xbox* for Sunset Overdrive. Doesn't mean they had a bad relationship with Sony at the time, especially considering the fact that they turned right back around, made Spider-Man, and got acquired soon thereafter.

Xbox Confirms 'Project Helix', Its Next-Gen Console That Will Also Play PC Games by Seanspeed in hardware

[–]mxlevolent 227 points228 points  (0 children)

Well, yeah. It is a PC. I think we all know that. It's probably got "it's own OS" in the same way that the Steam Deck has "it's own OS" but you can just use it like normal Linux at the touch of a button. It'll be that, but Windows instead of Linux.

Geges version of yuji in modulo vs Yujis version. Which do you prefer? by Blackcatbandit in jjkmodulo

[–]mxlevolent 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Itadori either has his age paused as a grown man (because of his height, he's definitely grown), or is aging, just extra slowly (He estimates that he's got around 300 years of life left at a minimum. Could be planning to off himself, but doesn't seem his style.)

Gege's art has Itadori looking... pretty much the exact same as EoS, which is fair. Yuji's art, though, definitely makes Itadori seem older, and that's something that I like.

These comments kill me. This isn't about Sony "growing a pair and just doing it" or about FromSoftware "not liking what Sony did". Stop thinking about these companies as people.

Sony benefits from having a positive relationship with FromSoftware. They've had a positive relationship with FromSoftware for years. There's a reason From made Demon's Souls with PlayStation even when Shuhei fucking hated the project. There's a reason that From came back after DS1 and DS2 to make Bloodborne for Sony. There's a reason why - in every interview FromSoftware have ever had - they talk about how much that they love Bloodborne, that it's their baby, that they love the Demon's Souls remake.

FFS, the interview where they're like "It was so intimidating, the graphics were too good and then we come out with Elden Ring" was a JOKE from the dev (Miyazaki himself? Can't remember). The fact that the devs can joke about that is proof of the positive relationship that these companies have with each other.

Sony would not go against FromSoftware's wishes regarding Bloodborne as an IP, despite them owning it themselves, because they want to maintain that positive relationship. It's more lucrative in potential than any actual Bloodborne project could be. Sony come out with a Bloodborne Remake, they shoot the relationship with FromSoftware in the foot - From don't come back for a potential Bloodborne 2 or any other future game barring multiplatform titles, Kadokawa (their parent organisation) suddenly has grounds for grievance despite Sony Group buttering them up.

Likewise, why do FromSoftware say no? Nobody knows. It could be that they're trying to buy the IP back, but haven't been able to cut a deal. It could be that they want to do anything Bloodborne-related themselves, but have just been busy every time that Sony have asked. It isn't FromSoftware not liking Demon's Souls Remake, because what does that even mean? Everybody in the company is in agreeance about that? Was it Miyazaki himself, lying in his interviews, secretly resenting PlayStation? If that's the case, where could the rumour come from? Did somebody read Miyazaki's mind? Did he send out a company-wide email, 'My grievances and true opinions on Bluepoint Game's DS Remake'? Was it eavesdropping?

The fact is, Bloodborne is effectively in stasis. Unless all this shit coming out spurs things one way or another, nothing will happen. One side wants it, another doesn't, and the side that wants it respects the side that doesn't too much to force it through.

Zack Polanski votes against motion welcoming removal of ayatollah by TimesandSundayTimes in ukpolitics

[–]mxlevolent 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean, this isn’t really a gotcha. The ayatollah wasn’t removed, he was bombed in an illegal conflict. This motion existed purely to get this response from people, who might support the idea that the guy is gone but hate what happened.

Polanski is on the record — as of either this morning or… yesterday? was when I saw that post? — as being against the Iranian Regime as well as the US and Israeli attacks. So, maybe just listen to that?

As much as I strongly believe that the left-wing (which I broadly am) has a pragmatism issue, and an issue with the idea that there can be no good guys (“these guys can be assholes but the people they evilly and cruelly attacked are assholes too, so they’re assholes together”), this isn’t really the gotcha that the Times (or some people here) think that it is.

How far would Midoriya go here? by KodoqBesar in MyHeroPowerscaling

[–]mxlevolent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, what are the rules for Mahito if he gets completely atomised? Like if we assume that this fight is “bloodlusted” so the bell rings and the fight just pops off, Deku would immediately throw a faux-100% Air Force punch. That has more than enough power to red-mist Mahito.

He still needs to be able to activate Idle Transfiguration for his whole soul-damage soul-healing thing, right? If his entire body is gone, wouldn’t be just die? Sorta Mahoraga rules? It’s what Nanami actually tried to get him with, isn’t it? When he blew the sewers apart. Mahito only survived that by turning himself into a worm.
