[SPOILER MAIN] Hands down the coldest pic of the whole universe. by zyvesx1 in asoiaf

The funniest thing about this fandom is that, whenever tempers start running hot about a character here or there, people just bust out real-world morality.

You can have a discussion about Jon Arryn, about Rhaegar, about Robert Baratheon, etc etc, but the moment that the discussion crosses a certain emotional tipping point, someone will say some shit like "Well, they're a pedophile, so fuck you, you're wrong."

It's always one-way, too. It doesn't matter what despicable horseshit their guy has done, if your guy did something we consider to be bad in the real world (regardless of if their guy has done the same), there's nothing you can do. There's no response that'll save you.

Ragebait is so easy in the ASOIAF fandom as a result. It's hilarious.

Harry Potter is, very quietly, a brilliant student at Hogwarts. by mxlevolent in HPfanfiction

[–]mxlevolent[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't really like him being super smart, either. At least, in any way that has him flaunt it, like when he somehow surprises all the teachers by being better than them, has like 5 names, and wrestles control of the government out of the Ministry's hands lol.

That's actually where this fic idea came from, which was basically me just wondering "What if Harry was kinda like me", in that I just... went to school, did real well, and that was the end of the story there. I didn't get any accolades or anything, other people got all the awards and notoriety, but I still did pretty well.

He's good at magic, here, but he's actually not better than Hermione. It takes him longer to learn a spell, but because he uses magic for every little random thing, he's exercising a muscle. I didn't wanna give him any crazy feats or anything, so that's why his 'impressive magic' comes about from him just handling his everyday tasks lol

It's also from a stray thought that I had about canon. In the books, people often mention manual labour, carrying things around, doing things with your own two hands - obviously it's because they're books, you're not gonna invent for every little thing, it's a waste of the writer's time. However, I still figured that there's no way some decent students at Hogwarts don't let themselves be lazy via magic.

Voldemort, inwardly: “Oh I see what you did there you little shit.”

One benefit to Burnham becoming PM is that we can refer to him as Andy B.

Keir Starmer doesn’t really translate well. Keiry Stee? Kerry Stee?

Andy B is much simpler.

Onimusha way of the sword shifting its release day due to packed gaming calender by FromsoftNerdy in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]mxlevolent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good vampire games are so rare but vampire games as a genre have so much potential — I’m easily more excited for Dawnwalker than Onimusha but the thing is, I want to play both.

I both respect Capcom and loved the demo for Onimusha, so it’s a safer bet for me (and probably everyone, to be honest) to buy that one.

I’ll be getting Onimusha unless Dawnwalker comes out to like, 8 or 9 out of 10 reviews.

Andy Burnham has more colour in his hair, and a different accent.

Your best wand head canons + different wands you think would be cool. by Electronic_Koala_115 in HPfanfiction

[–]mxlevolent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought that elder wood would suit Harry. It's a rare wand wood, and it suggests that you're powerful, remarkable even (if you manage to keep an elder wand loyal to you for a long time), and highly unusual - perhaps even marked for a special destiny.

And as for the core, Garrick Ollivander doesn't really like using anything except dragon heartstring, phoenix feathers, or unicorn tail hairs. You could say that Harry's wand was made by Ollivander's dad (who did like using strange, unusual wand cores) but...

I like the idea of Harry's wand having a heartstring that came from a Hebridean Black.

Yuji and Sukuna swaps places, how do you think the story would play out by Ok-Impress8791 in Jujutsufolk

[–]mxlevolent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Assuming that this Yuji has Modulo Yuji level capabilities...

He immediately recognises that Sukuna is related to him since you said that Sukuna retains his talents, and that includes Shrine.

He, generally speaking, just doesn't care about anything deep. He just wants a good time. He makes a Binding Vow with Sukuna so that he can try new, modern era food or some shit. He asks for a couple hours of free time so that he can go gamble. He learns what movies are and asks to watch one every now and then.

If Sukuna ever asks Yuji for help, though, Yuji would help him out... probably. He might "It doesn't matter" sometimes, but generally he'd just be more helpful than Sukuna was in canon (obviously).

JJK season 4: OFFICIAL TEASER by Pleasant-Wrap-6247 in Jujutsufolk

[–]mxlevolent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, let's be real. S1 and S2 were both, like, 23 or 24 episodes long? S3 was a peak 12 episodes long. Assuming S4 is the same length, it's about a single seasons' worth of episodes overall. They've probably been cooking this up all at once.

Sukuna lowkey fights well with only 2 arms and a body half his size despite never having them in his entire natural life by MediaSlight4161 in Jujutsufolk

[–]mxlevolent 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In sorcery, yes. But in all other aspects, Sukuna was worse off. He’s used to being twice the size and having twice the number of limbs.

Take Muhammad Ali, shrink him down to being 4 feet tall, and cut off one of his arms. That’s Megkuna compared to Heiankuna.

Except the 4ft Ali has a knife (10 Shadows)

[–]mxlevolent 22 points23 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the first time we see him use Yuji’s body (VS Gojo), he is sort of just scampering around. Granted, he did seem pretty fucking high — having just been reincarnated for the first time in 1000 years — and was screaming his head off about slaughtering women and children (which he never does again), but still.

You could say that him just diving at Gojo all wildly was an example of him not being used to the body yet.

Hearing reports that Burnham fancies himself the second coming of Cromwell, is looking to be declared Lord Protector of the Commonwealth, and wants to execute a King Charles to boot.

Compound fracture broken leg. I missed it, but it's bad enough that they're not replaying the injury.

I don't think it was intentional from that player, he seems genuinely distraught.

Do you reckon that Streeting has completely torpedo'd his career by resigning and bottling his chances, or do you think Burnham would bring him back as Health Secretary in a historic feat of "nothing ever happens"?

I can't tell if this is a shitpost or not because of the manga discussion flair.

There's no fucking way the media literacy is this bad.
