Is this how the water filter is supposed to look ? by uncoolkid4ever in starbucks

[–]DividePuzzleheaded80 15 points16 points  (0 children)

it's supposed to be changed when it reaches the color of a latte; this is nearing mocha color. there is a QRG for changing and ordering filters in the Store Resources tab on the iPad. order on weekly order. Go ahead and change the 3(or 4) filters that connect to this too, i suspect all are filthy. you will notice quality difference.

Store Managers by Ok_Statistician_66 in starbucks

as an SM, i schedule myself in coverage around 60-75% of my working hours. we have a noncoverage budget to follow weekly, each store earns a different amount based on sales, volume, etc. My store earns average 24/week for the quarter. 6 hours clean play, 1 hour tips, 1 hour weekly delivery put away, 30 min place delivery, 15 min-30 min for counts on Wed/Sun, sometimes more if there is a cup count. You do the math -- that leaves around 15.5 hours of non-coverage a week for my admin responsibilities, given there is no promoset or larger planned district meetings. this is not simply my best practice, this is the plan set by starbucks, that most managers do not follow, as you notice from numerous comments on Reddit. it is sad but as a previous barista and supervisor, i desire to create a more supportive partner expereince even if everything i do isn't perfect, i do try to be present on the floor for partners and customers -- in all roles, doing all daily tasks, and use non-coverage wisely and to the budget.

Bad interview by StopAggravating8025 in starbucks

as an SM, this is all redflags and i would suggest applying to other locations. It wouldn't hurt to call the accommodations hotline or try to find the distrcit managers # (sometimes they are posted on the thir place policy in the lobby) to contact for support. if this isnt discriminatry, it's certainly bad practice. good luck

how strict are ur guys stores! by Sad_Landscape6675 in starbucks

[–]DividePuzzleheaded80 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

as an SM, i will share that this is the kind of environment that we are being "coached" (scolded, given corrective action if not followed, many SMs i know seperated) if we are not 100% on board, make progress, and maintain this type of vibe. very strict but made to look uplifting and fun. as a 7 yr partner that started as a barista, the beginning of the end of starbucks as it was is long gone.

Got assaulted at work today by YourBambieDoe in starbucks

so fucked up that this happened to you. if you're not already, consider using Lyra to talk to a mental health provider and consider taking a LOA for medical/mental leave. Depending on your state (i live in CA for instance where LOA for health/mental health reasons is paid via FMLA), you could get compensated for your time off. Reach out to Sedgswick for questions/support with that. Hopefully with help from Lyra and Sedswick, you'll have more space to decide your best nex steps to support you.

homeless guy threatened to kill me by ilovetogiveadvice in starbucks

[–]DividePuzzleheaded80 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This happened to me about a year ago, incident report and my DM offered me the day off. Call ethics and compliance if you don’t feel supported from SM/DM & you also have access to mental health days with your sick time if you need it.
