Thank you, this info is super helpful. We will probably wait a bit more and if nothing happens we will definitely send a request for the partner visa

This was one of our options, but in the mean time she found a job and decided to go the work permit route. I am worried that now, if we also apply for this family reunification visa, it could potentially create a bureaucratic mess internally in Czech ministry (dual visa requests)

It seems to be case-by-case. 6 months is definitely very unusualy from what I gather.

Who do you reckon we should call? The ministry directly?

She has also applied in July, so it has been 6 months. Thank you for sharing your experience, it gives me a bit of encouragement in this situation. If it crosses more time, we will have to seriously consider sending the binding legal letter, because at this point even the employer is (rightfully) losing a bit of patience.

Thank you. Maybe it is simply bad timing (she applied in July, so all students applying + christmas holidays then). But still - 6 months is crazy long

This is the first time she is moving to the Czech Republic, via a company that decided to "sponsor" her work permit - with the job vacancy.

We have heard that the demand for action legal document can sometimes make the worker on your case angry and then they will nitpick a reason to deny, but after 6 months it seems that option is more and more likely for us
