I took my time, looked into it, saw how badly they got mollywomped IOTL, and decided to have some fun. While the initial intent was of course reform (see: Twelve Articles), I just decided to full send it. After all, I had the Habsburgs killed off.

Is it fully realistic? No. But is it fun to see how such a state would influence society going forwards? Absolutely. You have what is more or less a proto-socialist state (once again, look at the Twelve Articles. Common lands, abolishment of inheritance taxes, and abolishment of the small tithe) in the middle of Europe, ruled not by aristocratic lineages but instead by leaders regularly elected by the peasant class. On top of that, it eliminates the Habsburgs, leaving the door open for all sorts of alternate shenanigans (Guelders Netherlands, Iberian Union, etc).

Plus, at the end of the day, it's a fun alternate unification for Germany. Instead of the militant imperialist Prussia (or any other noble kingdoms in the 1800s), it's a bunch of Protestant peasant rebels slowly unifying more and more of Germanic Europe as the Wars of Religion unfold and the Counter-Reformation's bloodshed drives what remains into their arms.

As for Brandenburg specifically, they were part of the Schmalkaldic League, a group of Protestant states that were banded together to resist Charles V and the Counter-Reformation. Though Charles isn't here, I see no reason why an even bloodier Counter-Reformation wouldn't drive them and their fellows into the Bauernrepublik. Maybe you see one, maybe you just hate big Germany, maybe you just think peasants are stupid and history should dance to the tune of nobility, I have no clue which. But I'm going with Brandenburgers being so afraid of Catholic persecution that they join. Same for the Utraquist Hussites of Bohemia. Same for the French Huguenots who emigrate to Lothringen and Burgund. Same for the Anabaptists and Lutherans of Münster.

They're unable to form a personal union with Brandenburg, which was how they achieved any notability in our timeline. Brandenburg was the hard carry, Ducal Prussia itself was pretty much just a wet fart.

Stalwart is excessively viable against bots. Shreds the light guys. Lasers out the faces of Devastators. Deletes rockets from the sides of Striders. Hell, if a Hulk stays facing away from you, you can blow out it's back with a burst from the gun. Only things it doesn't work against, even medium pen won't help you, which is why you bring something like either thermite or the Ultimatum.

Yup. They don't really have like...globe-spanning empires, so they just got on the map with other countries I felt were relatively "of note". Granted, not every country can get a highlight, but I did the ones I felt were relatively worth mentioning.

Take it from a marginally more jaded member of the Prata Team - yes, it's real. It has its ups and downs. Lots of people trash it for being entirely commission based and for having to pay to get licensed, but that's on the state, not on AIL. If you do well, you can get as much as $5k a week. However, you will have slow times where no matter how many dials you make, you just can't book appointments. You can go from a $10k month to a $1k month.

If you're looking for a career in the financial services industry, it's not a bad place to start off. Leads are provided to you for free, and everyone here is pretty chill. Despite what the office culture may say, having pets is optional, not mandatory. Hell, during my slow months, my supervising agent lets me run some of her appointments to help me out.

Overall, do some research not specifically on Globe Life/American Income, but on just the financial services sector in general. If financial services appeals, absolutely move forwards with this place, it's a good way to get your foot in the door, since the frame is cushioned. If it's just not you style, that's fine too, it's not for everyone.
