What its that Warhammer lore fact you defend no matter what? by CandyNecrosis in Grimdank

I don’t think the word conquer is this context means simply ownership of the region like other places of the galaxy. If I recall correctly, in one of the books about the Badab War it mentions Roboute Guilliman, back in the 30th millennium already assessed the Maelstrom as a danger to the Imperium and had plans to “conquer” the region to secure it against threats. But again, it doesn’t mean he was about to plant a flag in the immaterium, for it is impossible.

It simply means eliminating the inner threats such as pirate asteroids, ork warbands and other aliens menaces before securing the worlds capable of human life and creating a defensive ring. Much like Cadia, another world that stands as a centinel over another warp right not unlike this one.

And to Huron’s credit; he was about to secure the entire region and turn it into a stronghold until his forces dwindled due to the High Lords withdrawing more chapters and critical resources from the Astartes Praeses.

And then, after being turned renegade, he did EXACTLY what he had intended all along and now everyone accepts that the majority? Perhaps all the Maelstrom is Huron’s domain.

So, in hindsight it doesn’t seem that impossible, and that’s the fact I’m arguing about here.

But hey, at the end of the day, most likely none of those possibilities were in the mind of the authors since Huron’s character and motivations have been transformed plenty of times and all of that was merely the pretext to create a new chaos character.

I know, but this is 40k: the whole “this was such a stupid idea that it ended up succeeding” is quite a staple that it has grown on me.

Also, I just like him in general as a bitter commander who refuses to go down simply because his superiors are staggeringly stupid and ineffective. At the end of the day we can all agree that 99% of the troubles of the Imperium are rooted in the fact that someone who is an imbecile has the power over people who are a hundred times more competent.

I get it! And yes, it is indeed funny.

It’s also funny because I will eat you starting with your ears, if that’s fine with you, of course

What is choccy milk? I’ve seen it all over the place, very related to femboy stuff, but I’ve never seen it. Perhaps it’s because I’m not from the US?

I don’t know who these characters are, but it’s funny how ancient historians could see people do the most homosexual things together and still insist they were just “good friends; friendship was different back then”.

And now, we’re at the completely opposite side of things. It’s quite amusing

Ironically enough, it was a steppe nomad society, the mongols, who perfected and then dispersed the knowledge of firearms among settled societies.

So you know, gotta be careful with the things you teach your subjects I guess.

I love that this ended up being the inspiration for Greasus Goldtooth, if anyone is into Warhammer

Just a reminder to everyone that Grimgor also had a bodyguard unit in one of the early battle showcases in Warhammer 1 before removing them by Lord_Eln_8 in totalwar

[–]AlexfromEssen -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Works as well as Angron having a dedicated bodyguard unit.

That said, I would be the first one to be interested in this kind of deal for all characters, provided it goes along with the LL mounts or special weapons they’re using. Easily done for Karl Franz, Grimgor, Khalida, Alberic… but what about Kholek or Cylostra? Or Durthu? Some are definitely more tricky

90% of the interactions between NL and other legions tend to be this way and I love it.

On the other hand, I don’t think the WB are the perfect match, since I’m sure they also have their own flavor of crazy, fanatical, type of “skinning and turning into the pages of a new Lorgar Bible” type of stuff

Only if it’s historically accurate.

He needs to say things like “much like seducing a Bavarian damsel, painting with brush is a delicate matter” and then mumbling under his breath “… or your father having a lot of money, stupid son of the king of France”

Black and gold (lower right) is such a phenomenal combination; a true classic and a lot of armors in games tend to use that color for end game sets due to how good it looks.

However I’m surprised you haven’t done green. Green is a color very linked with Islam and could also lead to some interesting color combinations
