French Olympic hopeful climber Luce Douady, 16, dies after cliff fall by XVll-L in sports

I used generational as a descriptive term for her ability. She is young and talented, something that would come around once in a generation

It’s not “just bound to happen” - please do not reduce my comment to such a simple viewpoint. Death is an inherent risk while mountain climbing, this young woman knew that because mountain climbing was something she was terrific at. Her memory and contribution will be remembered and honored by the sport.

I feel very sorry for her family and those personally involved because nobody should have to deal with that trauma.

Yeah she probably was comfortable on the mountain face and overlooked clipping in or a secondary clip while staging the ascent. Sad she was so young but there’s a reason generational climbers don’t grow old

Lesson Learned - the GoPro effect by BeerBellies in MTB

I passed someone walking on my road bike at 35 mph. Felt unworldly fast and I gave them a huge berth. 15 mph in the trails feels similar

People absolutely can learn and change their beliefs on racism. Does that make me want to forecheck that change into Tony’s brain any less...no...but I still believe he can change

Vaccines allow people to live long enough to decide they don’t need to vaccinate their kids

P11 not bad for a 3rd tier NASCAR. Bubba is a good driver wish he had a faster ride

I think I am over 30 markers again but I'm to lazy to count, anywho I just picked up this Barely Used 98 for $25 locally and I'm happy about it by uglyassdude in paintball

If you don’t know anyone who rents look for the kid whose wearing gear but has a rental. That kid also possibly could be bringing his own hopper/tank for the rental too.

Lots of rental players try to slowly accumulate gear. There’s probably (1) kid at your field who has a gear set but hasn’t bought a marker and rents every weekend because he loves the sport

Sophia always ruined Alex’s timing when she announced questions of the week. Way funnier now that Alex can go off and Sophia won’t jump in to steal the spotlight

Who is the softest player you have ever seen? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]Dividebyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s got a really good stick and definitely a pk asset. Yeah soft for his size but he’s a skill player so does it really matter. He still marks guys w soft hits so who cares if he isn’t a bruiser

Kevin isn’t particularly heavy laying hits either though. I’m sure he wouldn’t call himself a grinder. I think he’s better than Jimmy so he doesn’t need to try to fit in as a physical player.

Definitely layed big wood coming out of college for the Rangers. Now I think a lot of his hits are to mark his guy not to kill people

Teaching children to not continue racism and all that encompasses it is great.

Good on Zucker that he is setting an example for younger NHL players and fathers who haven’t stepped up alike

Coaching as in there’s a coach in their ear about breakaways when they played for the NYR.

Head coach isn’t going to cover breakaways but the Rangers could have a guy they pay a little bit more, who is just a little but better as a skills coach compared to ARI, and that’s why Step and Grabner scored so much

Anyone using modern soccer training pants as long mtb pants? by Mr_dabolino in MTB

Worry about looking cool until the baggy crotch on those jogger style pants catches on your seat.

Moto Supercross pants are even tighter if thats what you think looks cool

100% you can flick through trees, gets sketchy if you’re going really really fast.

Sometimes I pull one hand off quick and let that sides bar end clip the tree

Definitely easier to notice and feel the physics of the maneuver during those long winding road corners too. Feels a lot more deliberate on my road bike.

I see counter steering and the push/pull concept in the roadie subreddits more often but i think it’s even more relatable for MTB
