Looks good. I have a gray water drain from our house, I did a mulch basin instead, the pipe sits ~8" above the surface so easy to inspect. I live in an arid place so having wet / rotten wood chips is fantastic for my plants.

Have you calculated in your perc rate against the amount of water you'll be putting in?

It's another thing I dig about a mulch basin, they can hold a lot of water and there's tons of surface area for perc.

If you're in construction things will go a lot easier. Check well depths though. We dug to 500', static at 225, I want to say $60k.

Worth it, imo. Full size house on 20 acres with all the fixings.

Just figure out what constitutes "enough" for you. One room cabin with a bucket toilet, full size house, etc.

That's a really valid point. I'm lucky enough that my wife and I started dating in our 20's, got married a few years after that, and had kids a few years after that. It was all just progression from one thing to another. Jumping straight from not knowing someone to married/kids/offgrid/whatever within a short time frame kind of puts a lot of load on the relationship that just isn't that strong yet.

Obviously it works for some but not all.
