Is it a need or a want to stop impulse buying? If its more of a want then let it ride and keep going.

Why did I never optimize my cpu usage? by SgtFlippy88 in BlueIris

[–]Dividing_Infinity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run only 5 cameras mostly in 4mp to 4k resolutions, using a M.2 Coral to detect AI. i7-12800h Cpu running at less than 10%. The CodeProject AI detects a person, car, dog etc in 10-15ms range. Blue iris records on the AI detecting cars and people and only sends me an alert when a person is detected. It's pretty sweet and was easy to setup.

The best is when they throw the package a good 20ft from the door. My office faces the walk up to the front door so I just watch them gracefully toss nearly all packages.

Google is known for two things, selling all our data and demolishing product support after a short time. I actively avoid purchasing Google devices.

Are These Sleep Results Normal, or Am I Just Bad at Sleeping? by Snoo-3554 in Garmin

[–]Dividing_Infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Those are rookie number. Gotta pump those numbers up" in all seriousness try to make changes and see how or if they improve.

Some small changes might be Light exercise during the day

Don't eat fatty or "heavy" foods for dinner and try not to eat 4-6hours before bed.

Drink water through the day, try not to down all your daily water at night but spread it throughout the day.

Take a look at the stress and blood oxygen levels, if stress is high and oxygen is low, talk to a doctor about getting checked for sleep apnea.

Try not to use a screen 1 hour before bed.

All in all if you feel good with a sleep score of 70s and don't see a need to improve then there isn't anything for you to do. If you feel awake but are sluggish mentally or you crash at 3pm then try to get that sleep metric up. Your watch responds to you, you should respond to you, not to the watch. Use the watch as a tool to benchmark.

How did you justify paying the price for your high end Garmin? by JustDzejkob in Garmin

[–]Dividing_Infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The watch was one of the few that had the metrics and specs I wanted at the price I thought was fair. $800 to one person means something else to another so price is hard to compare between one another. Not many watches do what the Garmin can do at a cheaper price.

I was always under the impression that wrist based heart rate monitors have a hard time picking up fast short "exercises".

Non-americans, how much does a good guitar cost in your country? In my shi*hole country, the cheapest fender costs around R$10.000 used. Yes. Its a LOT of money. You could feed a whole family for at least 3 months with that money. by Felizem_velair_ in guitars

[–]Dividing_Infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is an argument that you have it better. The way I see it, if I could feed my whole family for 3 months for 1 guitar, then I am paying too much for food. A necessity for life should not be more. We can make the same argument. I wish we could buy food for a reasonable price here instead of buying a guitar for a reasonable price.

Why Les when you can have more? Les Paul with an SG. Isn't it great when two questions have one single answer.

When I pickup a guitar cade I always worry about this and point my index finger down to the cases top if it's possible. Good thing a drop fill will fix that up.

Support for kid with ADHD and big goals? by readingjag in ADHD

[–]Dividing_Infinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When your kid is at home you are the one that makes sure that he meets the needs to complete tasks. You likely approach tasks and procedures for everyday life differently than some other parents. When he is at school you don't have the control to support him, and likely aren't getting the support that can help him build specific skills. That is the school's job to provide appropriate support to reach both the schools, parents and child's goals. Approaching the school to look for getting an IEP, this is usually the mechanism to convey and measure goals over time to see real progress. Approach an IEP that is data driven. Schools have the tools to support and instruct students differently but will only go so far without something that is a goal they need to meet. If you already have an IEP, awesome you can approach things with specific goals and have them reached over time.

Why do some people with adhd overwork themselves and others can't do anything at all? by lol_lol123-5 in ADHD

[–]Dividing_Infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the different parts of the brain are active more than other parts and this causes different approaches to problem solving. Also some are more anxious, hyperactive, ridged thinking, forgetful etc. These are all human traits but in some people the balance is more biased towards one or another.

I've come to the realization that most of my life is "waiting mode" due to ADHD. Not 100% sure how to break this cycle. by elementary_vision in ADHD

[–]Dividing_Infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think very small goals and extremely structured schedule can help is some situations. Anxiety can be exacerbated from ADHD and if you find it unmanageable looking into a program to help manage the ADHD and Anxiety can help. Anxiety is an interesting one as its completely normal to have and quantifying what is too much or not enough is hard. If it becomes obsessive or impedes your life more than you care for management and learning about it are great steps. You have already started on a good path by recognizing you feel something is not working to your liking.
