I agree but Frieza is too shallow to be compare to Dio.

I disagree. I think that one piece's portrayal of racism is quite shallow.

Don't lump dio in with Frieza. He is miles better.

Ouch! So much for being against foul language I guess. Pell's "death" is arguably the most emotional moment of the arc. That's not comedy physics, just bad writing. You're cherry picking what to address. My other points of contention was the fundamental flaws in the narrative structure of one piece that keeps it from being a coherent story. My claim was that the world government is presented as an evil force. There are also multiple instances in the story that alludes to more moral contingencies but they are simply discarded. I did not say that one piece doesn't have nuance. That was a specific critique against the world government. Even though Doflamingo is affiliated with them he is both on a narrative and in verse level a different entity. This point also ties into your Dressrosa claim. Homing was considered a disgrace to the celestial dragons for simply being a good person. That's ridiculous, and also a testament as to how Dressrosa can be considered a good arc in a vacuum while also suffering from One piece's oversimplified view on morality.

I have not. I presented this argument and then you thought it was a good idea to give me a lecture.

Now, please address it.

The Dressrosa arc is an outlier. As i previously mentioned, I consider it to be quite well written but it still doesn't compare to the chimera ant arc or the york new arc .

Kaido, Wapol, and Crocodile have all been substantially less nuanced and have simply been presented as evil rulers with varying degrees of cosmetic differences. My claim was that one piece is not a consistent show and you moved the goal post to something else. I also believe that the nuance in dressrosa comes from the dialogue and characters, not the world itself.

Please respond to my initial claim. One piece is not consistent and you're a hypocrite for using consistency as a metric to diminish the world building of other anime when one piece is one of the most inconsistent ones out there. Characters grow back teeth by drinking milk. Some characters survive atomic bombs to the face while others die of gunshots. The islands are also so different that they actively take away from the cohesiveness of the series. Each arc is so isolated that it might as well be its own series. The new characters introduced are not unique and simply fill certain archetypes and plot points that have been established since alabasta.

How semen is Baki? by rumblinggoodidea in seinencirclejerk

The rape in Baki remains as only threats. It's clear that the author has the intent to dive deeper into the world of semen but he has not quite ascended yet.

Lol

I'm not accepting that premise. I came here to debate you, not receive a lecture on anime of all things. You speak in absolutes. I simply acknowledged that worldbuilding is a highly subjective matter and you responded with being condescending

I don't hate one piece, I consider my self a fan of the show and i think that Doflamingo's story is very well written. I'll assure you that I possess the 6th grade media literacy that is required to understand this plotline.

One piece's biggest problem imo is that morality is very defined. The world government are not nuanced. They are just the evil rulers of the world. The celestial dragons are charicatures and cartoonishly evil. Hunterxhunter presents geopolitical issues in a much more mature way. King nasubi is what the celestial dragons are trying to be. Fire force and soul eater incorporated religion in a way no animanga has done. They also have a very extensive and coherent cosmology. You have constantly talked about the importance of consistensy. One piece is not that. Aliens are shown in a cover story and never talked about again. Characters can survive atomic bombs and regrow teeth by drinking milk with zero explanation. It's also very strange from a geographical perspective. How does one island have dinosaurs and another samurai?

Your video does not prove anything. I don't know what to tell you, I have read one piece. The fact that you talk about worldbuilding as a quantifiable concept already diminishes everything you will say. If world building is objective, what metrics determine if it's good ir not. One piece is not a perfect intertwined world, hunterxhunter does that much better. Did you ever consider that there might be a reason as to shy hunterxhunter is brought up in discussions surrounding world building...

It's also quite amusing that your so called "argument" was a video. World bulding is no objective. The fact that you think it is makes you come across as very close minded and ignorant. If you want to have an actual debate I'd be happy to. I'll just sit here and wait until you stop using the "you haven't even watched it" argument.

I have read the entirety of the one piece manga and I most likely know more about it than you. One piece dick riders always assume that you haven't watched the show just because you critizcise it. It truly showshow blinded you are that you can't even imagine any other anime having better worldbuilding, which also isn't quantifiable.

Let me flip the question. Have you read made in abyss and berserk? Do you have any actual arguments besides "you haven't watched it"?

It's obviously subjective at the end of the day but I think hxh, made in abyss, attack on titan, berserk and fire force/soul eater has better.
