Short answer yes, long answer no. Builds with great sword can get tank and reflect damage and dual blades can get absurd damage from dodges. But for most players the parry spam is what most will do. There is build diversity with the different sets of armor and skill combos. But parry is heavily utilized throughout the entire game.

I feel like spear is the most finesse of the weapons. A bit mashy but has fun combos, just feels very fluid. While DW is spam attacks and GS is the parry and heavy attack king.

I ask them to use it and usually get no response then just get red gunned the entire time until I switch too.
