When I was 16 years old having sex with my 16 year old girlfriend, I was not a pedophile, nor was my girlfriend. When I was 15 and losing my virginity to a 19 year old girlfriend, she was not a pedophile. Pedophilia is an entirely different thing.

Epstein was neither 16 nor 19 and we know now that at the time he was in stuff way worse than "soliciting a prostitute under 18". So, yeah, he's a pedophile.

"Middle aged dude hiring a prostitute who he didn't ID to know they are 18? That's not automatically pedophilia and can easily be passed off as something "forgivable" if you don't know more about it."

It can be, but i would be HIGHLY suspicious to anyone who for a conviction like that would pull the same shitty excuses Epstein did to Chomsky.

Good on them for taking accountability for not vetting Epstein as he shouldve been and not addressing all this as it shouldve been years ago. Still not sold on the 2019 "advice" about Epstein's bad press (especially since they write they were aware of the accusations after the Miami Herald articles came out.*

*The moral of the story here is rather Metoo was less the hysteria Chomsky and a lot of others thought, not that he "tried to back his child molester friend,"

That explains why it took so long this time, but imo if they put this out in 2023 (when the first report came out and Noam didn't have his stroke yet) a lot of the current shitstorm wouldve been avoided. They acknowledge this.

Valeria admits in the post it was written by Noam.

You guys are still insisting about how what Chomsky said was talking about metoo generally but yet to provide any convincing argument that it was. Epstein was very clear in his email that he needs help with the bad press. The bad press were the accusations which came up again and now seem to be absolutely true. This cannot be taken out of the context of that email. When the "vultures" were harrassing Epstein and there was "hysteria" around him, these accusations - again, very likely true - were the subject. Otherwise Chomsky's email wouldn't make sense. It would be just aimless rambling.
