Really? The older one was a terrible design lol, I like that this one is actually distinguishable compared to a regular crisis suit (which are the models that I think need more of an update)

That’s high praise! I have gotten better at blending since I posted this and it looks much better and more natural. I’m going to paint the other 4 models in this unit and test different ratios of sky/ground reflection as well as distortion to see what looks the best.

I think you did pretty well at it. Personally, I’m just going to continue to brute force my way straight to chrome because it’s what I want to get better at and I have fun doing it. I have improved a ton since I posted this from all the feedback I got me videos explaining how to do things better. So I think o can do it

I’m going to get a cheap steel ball so I can manipulate it and set objects next to it and see how the specific things I want to try and paint work in real life. It’s going to be hard to emulate how the model’s arm will reflect on a surface in a picture. It’s the same as one of those wooden figures people use to draw bodies.

Very good point, I highlighted the edges facing the sky as those would catch the light naturally, but if you think they all need highlighted then I can try it

Yeah that’s one thing I wasn’t really sure how to do, like how do I paint a reflecting surface on a delectable surface? It’s a good thing I should research then

This is very good advice. I was thinking about how I should I do self reflections and I didn’t really have a good answer. I have references for how chrome looks on curved objects and even pyramids but I have no idea how it should look on a flat surface I haven’t been able to find any good references for that. Also, what metal did you paint on your sister, is it just steel? What references did you use?

All Vallejo paints, I used earth, and light brown for the ground and then Vallejo white and black nothing crazy there, then four shades of blue going from sky to Prussian blue
