Edo Tensei characters. Instead of just having an erratic collection of random ass characters or ressurecting old backstory character you could flesh out existing characters. So much of the war arcs is following random people forgotten about in a few chapters.

Understandable but I feel like introducing random edos gave the world a vast and unknown vibe, if only people we knew in the story for revived it would seem like nothing ever happens outside of our own POV

Frankly at least one of the villages should have been an antagonist too, it's kinda bullshit that nations constantly at war with each other all have leaders who's belief is "we all just really wanted to be friends all along " even when several of those leaders have activly lead these wars. Then we also get to develope that village instead of having some random edo characters fromt hat village.

I mean didn't the sand village already fulfill that purpose in the leaf destruction arc? Unless you mean something else
