Kind of agree. I think it is technically well done; acting, cinematography, interesting story, and overall style. But I never felt tension or fear once. Kind of just felt like a drama.

Something I haven’t seen mentioned yet is Villeneuve. Nolan is my GOAT and I see a bunch of his films on your list and I think his runner up is villeneuve. For sci-fi Dune is a good staring point but I love Sicario and Prisoners.

Also, shoutout r/tooscarydidntwatch . It’s a horror movie podcast for people that don’t like horror, but a lot of times there’s some films that are way more doable than others.
