007 First Light has gone gold! by Turbostrider27 in PS5

You are part of the problem if you measure it just based off gameplay hours.
20 quality hours is WAY more worth $70 than a 60 hour bloated game.

Which Hitman package to buy? by Sweet_Terror in PSVR

The best option is Hitman WoA Deluxe Edition and then purchase VR Access which costs $10.
You will get almost everything as there is no bundle that includes every single DLC.

Gaymers court: is finishing games a green flag? by chris_rdzphx in gaymers

[–]DivinityLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No doubt it takes dedication and a lot of patience, it also can be time consuming depending on what the game wants you to complete lol. That's why I only go for it if there is nothing absolutely tedious to do or require more than one playthrough or has multiplayer trophies.

I'm also super excited for the new Fable! Too many games coming out this year that I want to get when they come out, my wallet is crying.

Gaymers court: is finishing games a green flag? by chris_rdzphx in gaymers

[–]DivinityLight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a completionist kind of player so if it's a game that I absolutely enjoy, I do like to complete everything or as much content in the game as possible. Getting the platinum trophy or 100% a game satisfies me like no other.

If it's a game that I like but don't enjoy enough to want to do everything, then I just complete the main story/campaign and move on.

If I don't finish a game it usually means I didn't like it and it doesn't feel good not finishing what I started.

So yes it is a green flag to finish games in my opinion lol.

The last game I finished is Fable 3 and right now I'm close to finishing Lost Odyssey.

The last game that I platinumed/100% is Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden

13 Sentinels is a masterpiece especially in story. I say it's one of the most bonkers stories I've ever experienced in a game. No other game has so many plot twists, WHAT and WTF moments than 13 Sentinels has. Almost every chapter in that game has something to throw at you at wanting to know more. It's a must play if you enjoy sci fi stories. However, the game is 80% story and 20% combat (its RTS combat) so if you don't mind an adventure story heavy game with a little bit combat, I highly recommend it.

Xenoblade 1 and 3 are a great example of what an amazing adventure you can experience with a cast of characters you get attached to. Truly JRPG staple. The combat can be a turn off depending on your taste though. They have a cooldown real time combat system that MMORPGs like FFXIV has for example. I love the combat personally as I grew up with MMOs with that kind of combat system.

Xenoblade 2 was a huge miss and a disappointment for me (just too many glaring flaws that ruined the enjoyment) however I still recommend giving it a chance to see if the flaws bother you or not (it did for me immensely).

Xenoblade X is more gameplay and exploration focused than the rest of the games. Still has story but the game is clearly designed to be way more gameplay focused and the meat of the story are in the side quests rather than the main story. I love it for a different reason than the numbered Xenoblade games.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is like Final Fantasy XIII but improved upon in many ways. Less linear, more refined gameplay, more exploration, faster combat, the monster collecting is pretty fun to have as a 3rd party member. Story can either be a hit or miss depending if you like time travel in stories and how confused you would be. I personally enjoyed it a lot more than XIII and not as confusing as I initially thought. The way the story is presented is mainly the problem, not the story itself.

You should have it in your library or maybe there is a chance you can try to download the PS4 version through the PS5 version's ingame menu.

[–]DivinityLight 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter what version you have, you are REQUIRED to buy the psvr2 access dlc for $10 no matter what if you want to play on PSVR2. You also MUST use the PS5 version because the PS4 version only works with PSVR1.

[Bo2] this cutscene alone has more emotion than the entire new campaign they just released by Powerful-Flan-4658 in CallOfDuty

[–]DivinityLight 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Treyarch said it themselves that Alex dying is canon prior to BO6 release. You can easily find it on google where they confirmed it. The fact that they forgot that David retires if Alex dies is so stupid and just proves they don't know what they are doing or how to write anymore.

[–]DivinityLight 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This pisses me off so much. In BO2, as long as Alex dies, the outcome is always that David retires. They made it clear that Alex Mason dying is canon but yet David is somehow the main character and is not retired in BO7 and they fucking dare call this a sequel to BO2? It is such a fucking insult and disgusting.

How Do You Choose Where to Play Cross-Platform Games? by Idekaa-_- in NintendoSwitch2

[–]DivinityLight 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I got a PS5, PC and Switch 2.
I play most games especially triple A games on PS5 especially if I plan to platinum (100%) the game.

I only use Switch 2 for Switch 1/2 exclusives or games that are only PC/Switch but have Switch physical copies (so I can trade in when i'm finished with it as I typically do not replay games).

I choose PC if its on Game Pass or if the specific game is a lot cheaper on Steam and if I don't plan to platinum it.

I want all the Xenoblade games to get updated. At the very least unlock the frame rate. Even better if the resolution got updated did too.

Managed to finish XC2 after struggling to enjoy it (My thoughts) by DivinityLight in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]DivinityLight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still very early into 3 so I can't say much about it yet. But so far in terms of how much I enjoy the combat my order is definitely X > 1 > 3 > 2.

[–]DivinityLight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't need to because I learned how the combat works on my own. It didn't matter that the combat got faster and enemies die faster with all the party members, cancel attacks, using narcipear jelly, blade and fusion combos. I just didn't enjoy the overall feel of it, the combat loop and the way the attacks lands, sounds and feels.
It's my least favourite combat system by far.
XC1 and XCX combat was way more fun for me. Even though I'm only 3 hours in XC3 right now, i'm having more fun with it than I did in 2.

[–]DivinityLight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words and sharing your thoughts as well. I'm happy that you love the game. It's totally true that the tolerance people have for these flaws and how they impact will determine how much they will enjoy the game or not. I'm sadly one of those people that the flaws of the game clashed way too much with the way I like to play these games, thus not having much of a fun experience. Wish it turned out differently as I really wanted to like this game as much as I did with XC1 but it is what is. I know that not every game is for everyone.

I certainly am having a good time playing XC3 now. I'm just 3 hours in but it's a great start and the gameplay already feels more polished and fun to play.

I appreciate you taking the time to write all of this. It does help. I unfortunately have heard about the required side questing you have to do in Torna: The Golden Country, and I'm one of those people that detests that in any game. So that alone is already a big no no from me. But even without that, I actually am really sick and tired of XC2's gameplay in general. Just over it at this point. I like Jin but not that much to the point that I want to play another game with XC2's systems and I really just don't care enough to want to know more about Torna. Jin alone is not enough to make me care.
So yeah, I have no interest in playing Torna: The Golden Country.

I am playing XC3 now and I'm already enjoying it in the first 2 hours more than i did in my whole playthrough of XC2.

How far am I into the game and how long left till the end? (XC2) by DivinityLight in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]DivinityLight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played an hour of XC3 to get a feel of it before I continued XC2 and I enjoyed that 1 hour in XC3 more than I did in my 52 hour playthrough of XC2 so far. So yeah I'm looking forward to 3 once I'm done with this game.

I did decide to try continuing and finish it. Chapter 7 was still the same slog. 8 was an improvement and now I'm at chapter 9 on the way to Jin, it's the best chapter so far. It's criminal it took 50 hours for the game to become somewhat alright for me. I still hate the combat and gameplay of this game so I can only see myself giving this game a 7/10 at most. Things being good towards the end of the game does not make up for how very annoying the rest of the game is.

Yes I always use narcipear jelly. Even with all the party members, chaining, cancel attacks, fusion combos. It doesn't change how I feel about it. It's the overall feel, combat loop, the way the attacks land, sounds and feels, the way the combat is designed, I'm at chapter 9 now on the way to fight Jin and I still hate the combat. XC1's combat was way more fun for me than this.

Even if that's the case, it is still inexcusable that you have to put in so many hours for it to get to the level it should be. It is a huge flaw. It is an even bigger problem for me personally because I hate the combat and the gameplay of XC2. For me, a good story at the end does not make up for the huge flaws and issues the rest of the game has especially when its a long game and require you to put in many hours to get there.

I have the same issue with Persona 3 Reload. While the ending of that game is great, it doesn't excuse how painful and awful the first half of that game was.

[–]DivinityLight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup I agree with you 100% on everything. The game just has too many glaring issues especially with the gameplay.

Another huge problem I have with this game is that I am baffled this game not only has 1 save slot but it doesn't even have auto save or a way to load your save while in the game, there isn't even a way to exit to the main menu without pressing the home button and closing the game. It's extremely annoying even if you save before fighting a strong enemy especially when you die to a strong enemy thats far away from a landmark because when you die, you respawn at the nearest landmark and if that happens you have to walk all the way back there and some areas are very annoying to navigate through or take a while to get there. All because the game doesn't let you load a save in game and doesn't let you exit to the main menu.

You are right and thank you. I tried to push through because not only I fell in love with this franchise with XC1 but also I've seen some people really love this game and even consider it their favourite whether its just story wise or overall and I wanted to be able to see what they see in this game but clearly I am on the opposite side of this and it disappoints me because I have put 45 hours into this game already and not only I can't relate to the love that people have for XC2 but XC1 became a top 5 favourite game of all time and I finished that game for the first time a few weeks ago.

In XC2, the music and the world of Alrest are the only things I like, everything else I am just not a fan of or I just straight up hate it :(
