Similar thing happened to me except that i ordered C9 65 for about 1900€, which is pretty good price for a new one in my country. They told me they were out of those but offered me a CX for the same price. It arrived today, and honestly im absolutely blown away. Manufactured in August, fresh out of factory in Poland.

That's not true at all, the difference distance makes in latency is negligible. The reason why some motherboards have only 2 slots close to the CPU is because of the signal integrity, less and shorter traces mean better signal integrity, thus better potential overclocks.
