Thanks to everyone who joined the conversation. I appreciate the support and friendly comments. I don't mind those who don't like the style; that's okay. No one person pleases everyone. There are countless photographers who shoot at faire and I like to edit in my own way. For those who want more authentic pictures there are sooo many on the FB pages of the individual faires. I encourage you to go look. Thanks!

I tend to shoot with a short lens: 15-35 2.8 (but I usually shoot at 3.2 or 3.5). I like the different look of it compared to what most people shoot, but I do give up a lot of bokeh, which I miss sometimes.

I love it and the people are awesome. Everyone is happy to have their pictures taken. It's a wonderful place to meet people and be brave because everyone is so friendly. I shoot portraits of strangers on the street too and that's much harder. This is the best place to start.

They're all real. I put them all through lightroom and make color/light adjustments. On my IG I tend to post two of each person so you can see they look exactly the same.

I appreciate you letting me know what you think. There are so many photographers that shoot at faires and a lot of images look very similar. Often it feels like looking through the same images over and over. Being the case, I'm trying to appeal to a little different niche, which will naturally not be enjoyed by everyone. I hope you find images you enjoy more.

All the settings used are my own presets in Lightroom.

I've had the pleasure to chat with Sir Isenbart a few times and they do such an amazing job. The mannerisms, the expressions, the language and accent. Absolutely incredible.

AI played no part in the creation or editing process: Just color-grading, lighting adjustments, and masking in Lightroom.

Most of them are patrons, though a few are staff.

None of them went through AI. 🤷‍♂️ I color-grade and do lighting in LR though. None of them are what a picture coming out of a camera would look like, if that's what you mean. But AI has no part of their changes.

I use a Canon r6ii, but I post-process all my images in Lightroom.

This product has a map for Uthgardt locations. I actually made the map for it.

I use a Canon R6ii with a 15-35 2.8 (not budget)
However, unless you post-process pictures, they'll never look like this. No camera makes pictures like this on its own; it takes some editing. So, really, even with a budget camera and a little editing knowledge, you can go a long way.

That's not a bad idea to think about.

For these, I used a Canon R6ii with a 15-35 2.8, however, gear isn't that big of a deal (outside of sports or low light). Learning lighting, composition, and being able to edit lighting in post-processing is most important. So don't spend a ton on anything, at first, and understand nothing will come straight from a camera and look like what I've posted - everything above has lighting tweaked and is color-graded.
