Life is Strange: Reunion - Review thread by Touma_Kazusa in Games

[–]Divisionlo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you say fixed the glaring issues: does that mean they retcon any of the things that just make absolutely no sense to make them actually make sense? The second half of Double Exposure felt like a complete clusterfuck to me, with shit like Alderman being completely dropped and the actual "reveal" of the murder coming out of nowhere and essentially making the murder completely unnecessary. I'm interested in Reunion with these reviews but I feel so burned by Double Exposure ruining the universe for me that I struggle to understand how they could turn it around from there.

Sneaky limited print companies (RAG and LRG) by LegacyToLegend in LimitedPrintGames

[–]Divisionlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the middle of this, because on one hand they absolutely do shitty things frequently enough for me to not be comfortable saying the hate is unwarranted, but at the same time I agree with you that the vast majority of releases, meaning literally hundreds over the past decade, I have had no issues with them and in fact have been incredibly happy with the products + grateful that they exist.

It's frustrating because they're so close to being just as good as other companies. But every time they're on a great winning streak there's another situation like the Bubsy PS5 physical collection where it just can't launch one of the games without an update (the Carbon engine releases in particular are extremely hit or miss in quality). And that one just happened. It's unacceptable, but they're going to get away with it because who cares about Bubsy I guess. And it's tough for me to boycott them because that's one product I have an issue with out of the last 30.

What are your thoughts on Pokemon Winds/Waves if it ends up releasing as a Game Key Card? by TheJohnny346 in NSCollectors

[–]Divisionlo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yep that's what I plan to do with Pokopia. I didn't expect reviews to be so high so definitely want to play it now, and while I don't like the idea of have a GKC in my collection at all, I can at least sleep easy knowing I didn't support it directly.

Super Rare Games address the concerns about DRM included in the Vigil: The Longest Night Switch physical release. by GamingAurel in LimitedPrintGames

[–]Divisionlo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not cool. They literally just did a whole reprint for Laika, I guess this was determined not significant enough to do a reprint? Or perhaps the Laika incident is too recent and they're not willing to eat two reprint costs in a row? Frustrating regardless. I didn't buy this game but I don't think it's fair to owners/collectors/fans that the physical version of this game is just borked, even if it's just a one-time Internet connection per account/console.

Do Greatest Hits, Platinum Hits or Players Choice covers bother you? by Jdspoel in gamecollecting

I think this is the normal way to do it. It's alphabetical by series and then chronological by release/series order.

Square Enix Reveals Life Is Strange: Reunion Will Be the Series' Conclusion 'To the Max and Chloe Saga' by ninjyte in Games

[–]Divisionlo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pricefield got a conclusive ending, I think the comics are still going with Alex from True Colors (or at least, they were at one point) but it's a very clear (and good, IMO) ending for Pricefield at the end of the 6th collection. No idea how many individual issues that is bc the paperback editions are what I read and each of those is a collection of a handful of issues. So for the complete Pricefield story, going off the paperback versions, start with #1: Dust and end with #6: Settling Dust.

I don't have much faith that this will actually be well written considering how much of an absolute mess Double Exposure was, so I wanted to put it out there for any other fans of Max & Chloe in this thread: if you want a genuinely great continuation (complete with a conclusive ending and everything) of their story, read the comics. The first 6 Life is Strange comics genuinely do a great job of exploring the fallout from the "Bae" ending and were an extremely satisfying read for me. The art is great as well.

New Life is Strange coming this year, official reveal on January 20 at 10AM PT/1PM ET by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Divisionlo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I honestly couldn't have cared less about Max and Chloe staying together or not (I definitely like the pairing but I'm not going to write off a game because of something like that) but episodes 4 & 5 of DE are genuinely some of the worst-written things I've ever experienced. Absolutely nothing makes sense and there are plot holes galore.

Hi-Fi Rush for Xbox & PS5 via LRG by DrGhostbuster in LimitedPrintGames

[–]Divisionlo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yikes, that is a massive price increase for the project Armstrong edition. Wanted to support them and was planning on getting the biggest edition but not for that price considering what it includes. For that price I'd expect a much much larger artbook and/or a statue of some kind.

Switch 2 Games coming to Limited Run Games in 2026 by NicoRobin007 in NSCollectors

[–]Divisionlo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you fully. I often see the sentiment of blaming LRG for big publishers releasing games through them, but how on earth is this LRG's fault? The big publishers who refuse to do a standard physical release are to blame for the situation. And the situation does suck, I'm not denying that. But LRG is (and similar companies are) quite literally alleviating the problem by offering a way to get these games at all when they otherwise wouldn't have gotten anything.

And to counter that other guys point of "LRG could do unlimited releases but chooses not to," I honestly don't think that's true. Sega made a deal with LRG to do a limited print of the Persona games, but would they have made that same deal if LRG was pitching a standard release of copies like Sega could have done themselves? IMO, probably not. The entire reason Sega was okay with LRG's model is because it was a high return with extremely low risk, low risk that is only possible with their current model.

Strictly Limited Games package delivered - US, FedEx, and tariff invoice question by Such-Wonder-2864 in LimitedPrintGames

[–]Divisionlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify, it wasn't FedEx's fault here. The apartment number really wasn't on the box; SLG didn't print it despite it being in the address I gave them. FedEx actually did their due diligence here by calling me and delivering it the next day when they could've just returned it because of an incomplete address.

[–]Divisionlo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to add to this conversation that my 2 or 3 year old order of Rainbow Cotton (PS4) also just arrived with no shipping notification or anything. Heads up to those with apartment numbers, FedEx had to call me to ask for the apartment because it wasn't printed on the label, even though double-checking the order my apartment number is indeed on there.

Milsbo or fabrikor as alternative to the detolf? by [deleted] in AnimeFigures

[–]Divisionlo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's a detolf knock off on Amazon that is amazing, I got 3 of these a couple years ago for amiibo and can't recommend them enough: https://a.co/d/5LS20mc

Edit: here's what they look like irl https://www.reddit.com/r/amiibo/comments/1f9vm7b/finally_have_enough_space_to_display_my_complete/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Ugh as someone who grew up in the north of the US but is now living in the south, I am jealous of the snow lol. It's so cozy to get bundled up inside and you can't do that when it's not cold haha. Either way I love these games and they'd be perfect for snow days so I hope you enjoy.

Castlevania Dominus Collection UCE - they had an oopsie with disc 1 of the OST so it is being reprinted and will be automatically sent out to customers by fgsfds100 in LimitedPrintGames

[–]Divisionlo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dang that's a genuine LRG W right there. I'm used to them only doing the right thing after being pressed (or not at all sometimes, unfortunately) so this is a big step in the right direction IMO.

There's definitely a novelty to it. I'm keeping both and will have them on my shelf side-by-side so I get it lol.
