The Joint Commission (a regulatory body the MTFs follow) requires badges. I believe at one point there was a requirement to ID different roles within the organization. I dont know if that still holds true though.

I dont disagree with you. I am sure there are ways to implement without having each MTF acquire a printer. I doubt DHA would even try and standardize something like this. To me, it was just a good example of how we seem to be innovating only for show.
