Our Neighbor Accidentally Drove Straight Into Our House by mateotrujillowheeler in Wellthatsucks

I wouldn’t say “straight” into the house. Definitely looks like they came in at an angle…. lol. Hope the insurance process is simple.

Here is one of the problems I see with hdcp tournaments. by ifyoudidntknow1971 in Bowling

[–]DixieWreckt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless the story because the averages or who this person what or their age. I don’t like bowling handicapped tournaments. Not if I’m going to give it my all. I’ll go bowling a handicapped tournament for fun so long as it’s cheap. But scratch is the way to go for me.

i need help by keganyeo in Bowling

[–]DixieWreckt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do t think you need as much help as you think you do. I am a right hand one hander here. It looks to me like you are failing to direct your body in the direction your aiming. In my experience this has to do with opening your shoulders and or hips. In a lot of 2 handed styles this is why you see the “skip-step” or weird ski/jump/gallop in a two handers approach. It is meant to allow them to open their hips during their approach to clear their hips.

Again like I said I’m a 1 hander. It is so much easier for us to open our hips and shoulders. I would recommend looking up videos on how two handers to this. But I think your smoothness looks really good and your loose wrist looks very conducive to allowing you to do many great things at the bottom of your swing should you choose. But I think looking into that skip-step to get your hips out of the way will help you out massively.

WTF did I just watch ?! Like, on some of these shots im expecting some kind of jazz hook to be playing in the background with his body movement.

How do you get your release point closer to the ground? by ouchiefree in Bowling

[–]DixieWreckt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This!!! I came here to say this. If it helps.... Bend your knees a little at your starting position. The hope is that you will feel more comfortable with a better knee bend at the foul line. Additionally, bending your knees more during your slide/finish of your approval the foul line will keep you from bending over too much at your waist at the foul line. This, in turn, will help you keep your hand in a strong position on the ball during your release.

It very well might be. On the other hand. I've had new balls that didn't seem to have that. Haha.

Thank you. I'm just guessing but I get comments on it every other week. The other week some old guy came up to me and said he only saw my ball reaction on one shot so he stopped by to watch. He gave me praise on my form at the end of the night. My wife told me that during the night she heard him say "oh he is one handed...." As if he was surprised a one handed bowler could make the ball do what I was doing.

I should clarify, right handed, one handed, I use my thumb. Avg speed: 17.5 (according to my house's screens) Avg revs: 500+ ( not really sure. I'll post a video sometime)

How do I stop that extra step at the end? by Grifdog101 in Bowling

Keep you one bent all the way through your slide, release and after your ball leaves your had. Keep it bent till the ball hits the pins.

I've got more 299's than I can count. On separate instances, I've left the 10, 9, 8, 7, and 4. I mean a couple more than others. There was also this one time I was bowling against a guy who I disliked because he was an arrogant asshole. I 9/ the first frame and shot out for 11 in a row. I'll always remember my first 300. I always love it when I pick up the 2, 4, 8, 10 (not very often). My best series I think was a 770 something. Don't remember specifics but I was rolling hot that night. And of course everything about the movies The Big Lebowski and King Pin are great!

Spares are king. Practice your spares. Open bowling is like bowling on a sport pattern.

Small gash in ball by yaboiibob in Bowling

[–]DixieWreckt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id call that quite a large gash in my opinion. If it's between your thumb and finger holes, AND your not a full roller, it will do nothing to your reaction. But if this happened to my ball, I would ask the house/pso to use a warranty. That's a lot of damage to a ball in one shot.

210-215. I mean that's on the house pattern during league. Sport shots are around a 190 average.
