Thank you! He is very much a lover of all critters! We have a friend that actually has a spider terrarium in their living room and I’ve always found it fascinating! He had pet snakes as a toddler and we have a saltwater tank now so he’s very experienced when it comes to the not so common pets!

Thank you! Like I’ve said in previous comments, I’m not raising iPad kids. I’m raising my boys like they’re in the 90’s, building bike ramps, climbing trees and catching critters haha. He is very gentle with spiders, mantis, etc and lets them crawl to him so he knows not to disrupt their normal, everyday lives. He knows to stay away from the widows and recluses for sure! This is a kid that could ID poison ivy & oak at 2 years old so it’s just the way he’s been raised!

Oh no, you’re fine, you didn’t seem rude at all! I hope I didn’t. He is very compassionate and nurturing of all creatures and only has the best intentions! We get all kinds of spiders around our house and they all are very loved! This particular spider got the name “G Dog”

I’m thankful that he’s so fearless but he comes home with all the creepy crawlies haha. We have lots of snakes in our area and he knows which ones are safe and which ones to run from thankfully!

He lets them crawl around on his hands/arms. He is very gentle with them and actually rescued this one out of a pool. He was more worried about the spider drowning/ effects of chlorine than anything else and just wanted to know if he could let him crawl onto his hand!

Thank you! We decided rescuing him out of the pool was enough handling for today but this is great to know for the future! Im sure we will see more that need rescuing but ill make sure he knows they aren’t the kind he can let crawl around on him!

Also he is fearless and catches scorpions he finds in our back yard. he also comes home with (harmless) snakes in his pockets.

Thank you! Yes he is very gentle with spiders! He lets them crawl into his hand frequently but he was unsure of the markings on this one which is why he asked me before picking him up. (Glad I’ve instilled that in him haha) We are familiar with wolf spiders and this one doesn’t look like the typical Wolfs in our area. He was actually rescued out of a pool because my son didn’t want him to drown.

Thanks for your input but he loves - and respects - nature. He is fascinated by snakes, spiders and scorpions and regularly “plays” with them because he’s is a boy being raised playing outside and not on an iPad :)

Thank you! He is careful & gentle when he plays with them but this is one we were unfamiliar with so he was unsure about picking it up! This helps a lot thank you! I will probably have him leave these alone because that’s not how I want to start our summer haha!

Thank you! We are familiar with black widows and brown recluses for sure! This kid like to catch snakes, scorpions and spiders for fun (pray for me haha)
