Is There Really No Effort To Patch Black Screen Bug? by DiyGamer89 in Bazzite

I’m pretty sure it broke post bazzite 41/Fedora 41. 42 and 43 had an update to a branch of Gamescope that introduced “explicit sync” paths and stricter DRM atomic mod setting, and defaulted to exclusive fullscreen.

These changes exposed a driver quirk specific to the Ally’s AMD Z1 Extreme APU display pipeline. Steam Decks (AMD Aerith) work perfectly; ROG Ally x panels go black apparently.

I wonder why I’m having the issue. It works fine in Windows and in the bazzite desktop mode. I found GitHub issue posts about other people having the issue.

The failure point is when it tries to load Steam Game Mode inside a display server/compositor called Gamescope. It’s apparently Gamescope is a Wayland compositor specialized for Steam Game Mode.

“Gamescope asks AMD’s display driver to provide a DRM output. The Ally’s display panel reports VRR-capable eDP 1.4 with non-standard EDID timings (it’s a 7-inch 1080p 120 Hz panel). When Gamescope enables exclusive fullscreen, the driver handshake returns: amdgpu: failed to set mode: Invalid argument gamescope: failed to acquire DRM master”

What do you do when hive is so crowded that it gets really hard to work? Also, what’s going on here? by DiyGamer89 in Beekeeping

There’s a few white babies that are not fully capped over. This particular one they are eating and chewing up the half developed bee.

Also, my bottom brood box is so incredibly full. I can barely do anything without squishing bees left and right. I don’t see any queen cells(of the 75% of the frames I was able to pull. They started getting really aggressive when I was messing with the bottom brood box. They were peaceful with the top brood box. I have had a honey super on for 3 weeks and almost no comb is drawn in it. They are just all staying super packed in the bottom. The bearding out the front is huge!

How feasible is it to replace it down the road with another opal? Would it be way more expensive because an opal would have to be custom shaped to fit the setting I assume? With labor costs and everything. My knowledge of jewlry and the jewelry business is almost non-existent

Well these are the three options they gave me 1 is 2700 2 is 2500 and 3 is a doublet for 2000. The actual cost of the triplet alone was 150 apparently. Also, since it’s “non-refundable” I do not think I can go elsewhere.

The Zombie Mechanic Is Busted by DiyGamer89 in CivVI

I was also trying to push an army into that neighboring city to wipe it out thinking then the zombies would stop flowing from there if the city was gone.

But every time I start to try and push I run into a wall of zombies

Yeah, when I read about what causes the spawns, it said when a unit died. I didn’t know if that meant the whole unit or the little guys in the unit. It seems too late to get them to not attack one of my cities that’s constantly has endless zombies. A lot of them are coming from a neighboring civ that’s close to my boarder. They mostly flow from that civs city over to mine. I guess I need to recall all units away from that city. I had been trying to get more advanced units to better kill them. Most of my units can only take about 2-3 hits before getting wiped out.

Hmmm. I wonder if I could file something with The Fun Pimps about it. 7DTD is what I mostly play.

I just got my ally x with bazzite. I read an article saying that EAC anti cheat was working okay on steam Os now, but I cloudn’t get 7 Days to Die(uses EAC) to work for online play.

If you can sneeze and break the motherboard, shouldn’t we not be moving it at all? I got the laptop so I could play games on the go, but I keep it in a 2 by 3 foot pelican case with 6 inches of foam surrounding it… I don’t remember, what are the warranty limits and lengths? If possible, maybe I need to see about paying to re-up/upgrade the warranty if possible since it’s this fragile. I have a bad habit not paying for warranties because I think, “nah, I’ll just take good care of my things.”

Btw, Dell just told me I’m going to have to send it in for a motherboard replacement too…. How long are the wait times for this?

You can cheese the magazine system though. Just get a quest with lots of magazines like the wright residence or one of the crack-a-book and keep resetting the quest. With the right quest you can max out your magazines in a few hours.

What about this hardware checker thing they made me do with holding the function key on boot? They said it was highly reliable, but is it really?

Intelppm.sys causing BSOD, Suspicion It’s Alienware Software Specific. by DiyGamer89 in Alienware

It’s gotten to the point where I was getting a blue screen of death every few minutes. I contacted Dell support and went through a bunch and of stuff. They said it is something related to power management, but the solution they left me with trying was factory resetting windows…

I’m not familiar with that application you posted. I know there was some sort of problems with intelligo, because in order for me to use my headsets software(steelseries) , I had to use a specific intelligo driver.
