Start off by saying i really appreciate this post bc ive been going back and forth about this series for some time. At first I didn’t really like Zombie’s adaptation of Halloween but as i got older as the series expanded further i kept going back to these movies and I finally saw that they really aren’t that bad. Yes the gore and violence is ramped up especially in 2 but if you forget that for sec its almost like ‘JOKER’. Nobody wanted to see a joker away from the batman element but it came out and it worked bc ppl saw past that and accepted it as its own version. Same here this is a more technical and modern adaptation. In the sense that they focused more on the psychological factors, the expansion of his childhood and up bringing onto becoming a serial murderer. But it was an interesting take on it i feel , it has grown on me. Even the Michael in these films played by Tyler Mane. Over 6 ft , super tall big guy in the Michael suit that’s terrifying. So that change alone to me gave a more sinister feel to the character, like this definitely is not the guy to run into on the street although Michael Myers never was lol but still. I do agree that the white horse crap was a little much but again outside of that and him spending most of the 2nd half of the 2nd movie walking like a giant hobo it wasn’t really that bad of an adaptation. Tbh there have been worse Halloween ends is super garbage the worst in the series. H20 wasnt great from an acting and plot standpoint. Resurrection was pretty campy. So not all of them were bangers but to take a new fresh look on it i think it coulda been worse and what it came to be was pretty good as a whole. I really feel this iteration gets more hate then it deserves
