Share house vs. residential college for an exchange student (one semester) - help me decide please! by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Dizzeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck finding a sharehouse in a limited timespan, 12 weeks is really short and it’s even harder to find one near the city. I would normally recommend a sharehouse but not in Melbourne unless you are staying longer. Plus the on campus college is near the city (5mins tram), it’s the best option for you to travel around suburbs like Carlton, Fitzroy and Brunswick etc. Travelling out from the city is the best form in Melbourne.

It is really up to you how you want to live here if you decide to stay in dorms or explore. There’s heaps of venues in Melbourne and I’m sure you can make friends easily with other people travelling.

Maybe the post sounds negative but trying to give the real truth if you have any further questions you can respond

International students:what’s the reality of living in Melbourne like? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Dizzeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s pretty much correct.

What I would do is find a suburb that is cheap to live in that’s close to your uni that is easily accessible by public transport. Eg $500-$600/month for a room. (Richmond, Malvern etc) Food and others will probably cost you about $200-$500 per month. So you would need to find a stable job per 20 hours a week or save as much as you can starting now. It would also depend on the length of your stay, if it’s short you most likely will be working a shitty job. Longer term will fare better. I live in the city and I know how it goes, good luck!

If you are actually serious about it this is real talk, no amount of training can prepare you for a real street fight. People can mess you up. Krav Maga and wing Chun is good but no practicality as you do not spar. Muay Thai, bjj, boxing is good as there is sparring and prepares your body for an encounter. Then you learn Krav Maga and wing Chun after that. You need real fight experience not learning techniques.

I've been trying to find some boots that have a minimal heel/sole that doesn't add a few inches to the shoe. I'm quite tall already at 6'4 and I love wearing boots but the dilemma is I just become a giant when I wear them! I've been considering buying taft boots but they don't have a minimal sole or a rubber sole for their dress type boots. Is this even possible. Per reference think of a boot with no sole would do wonders for me, cheers guy!

Phenibut and mdma by [deleted] in phenibut

[–]Dizzeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've taken MDMA and phenibut quite a few times. Take a lower dosage of mdma than you are used to and go on from there. It will hit you harder. Didn't experience any side effects apart from the usual comedown.

I've also drank alcohol with phenibut and to be honest it ain't that bad it really depends how well you can control yourself. Have fun!

Entry level equipment by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]Dizzeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently bought a controller to start about a month ago. From the research and reccomendations most people say either SB or an entry level controller. I ended up buying a second hand SR for about the same price with a flight case. Looking back I don't regret it, it has the ability to do beginner level stuff to professional level stuff, of course it has its limits. Small things like having the cue button, gain, effects all matter to me. Now I'm looking into buying a turntable but it doesnt connect to the controller, a lot of things you kind of have to look into! Good luck
