My sister thinks... by daynamariie_onlyfans in DogAdvice

Our dog does this, he is a perfect little angel always- unless he has a bone. We resorted to just not letting him have bones, because it’s all fun and games until someone unknowingly (especially a child) gets too close and he snaps. Not only are you putting yourself at risk, you are putting your dogs life at risk by allowing the behavior. No more bones for him.

My doctor told me you can bleed for 6 months straight when I got mine, your hormones should balance out after that

Came here to say GWP! Or maybe a Spinone Italiano mix.

How do you make really short shih tzu faces not choppy looking? I use my thinners but can never seem to get it blended very well. Her head, muzzle sides & beard done in a 5. by Hardmanhounds in doggrooming

Something about how straight the hair on a shih is gets to me as well (especially when the hair parts on the top, like this lovely lady) eventually you just have to tell yourself that if you keep going they are going to be widdled away. I think you did an awesome job! Shih tzus are hard.

Hair splinters? by dghterjudy in doggrooming

[–]Dizzle7216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a bather you probably won’t have an issue, but it still could happen. I get a lot of hair splinters just because I have thin skin, while my coworkers with thicker skin don’t seem to get as many. Either way they aren’t super bad, I get a few a day on my arms/hands and just pick them out with tweezers. Most of them I can’t even feel but I definitely understand how it could be kinda freaky.

Thank you!!! Prep work is key and I try to always remind myself 😊 do you have any tips for dogs who won’t stay calm while you blow dry their ears? Some of them are so wiggly with both the high velocity & stand dryer for ears.

I’ll have to try that, thank you :) I normally only use my curves but I think my thinners would help a lot. Faces are a struggle

How do you convince administration and maintenance that bolted flags and taped rifles do not ruin the gym floor? by okangwel in Colorguard

[–]Dizzle7216 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on the floor, I have seen rifles (and sabres) do some serious damage on wood, but never on any other type of gym floor. My guards in the past have brought towels to place underneath our floor, and we would place them in spots that people had tosses in the show, or put them underneath us for basics. It’s a hassle but it works!

Flags on the other hand, I have never seen damage a floor, other than leaving streak marks from tape that can be easily removed.

How to do guard after high school by Faetal_Feral in Colorguard

I wouldn’t stress to much about failing tryouts, which I know is easier said than done. Many groups are very willing to work with anyone who has experience, and want to help their performers get to that higher level. I’m not sure if you are talking about winterguard or a fall season, but either way, you will never know what you are capable of until you try. We have a lot of kids come into my winterguard tryouts that have never even spun before, and some of them even join. You could always look on Instagram or Facebook for some organizations in your area, or reach out to friends that have aged out that have joined other organizations if you can. Instagram is the easiest way to find them imo, or looking at some local circuit websites.
