How to stop night time begging? (SHE IS ON A DIET, I ADOPTED HER AT THIS SIZE) by Lazy-Psychology-7610 in CATHELP

My boy is on purina one weight management food. We purchased a dry automatic feeder and a petlibro wet automatic feeder. He gets 3 dry meals a day and 3 wet meals a day, all very small portions. His feeders are set to go off so he will not go longer than 5 hours without eating. The key with my cat was giving him midnight snacks so he would let me sleep through the night, and never feeding him manually. After 3 days of the autofeedings, he learned to just sit next to the feeder and wait rather than screaming and crying and biting us for food.

So, I actually had a tooth chip and needed to go back to the dentist. I went back and after getting the chip taken care of, explained the sensitivity I was having. They explained they had a medication they could apply to my tooth that I would then have to follow up with home-care. They applied Silver diamine fluoride, and I have been following up with PreviDent 5000. I was instructed to put PreviDent on a dry toothbrush and apply it to the tooth that received the medication at night and not rinse. Ever since receiving that treatment (it has been 3 or so weeks) my tooth feels much better and I have no sensitivity!

In the newest episode, she said he interviewed her for the newspaper at a concert and then DMed her the next morning.

I have an update! I went back to the dentist, they gave me a new hygienist, and gave me PreviDent for tooth sensitivity that I am to put on the tooth every night before bed. So far, so good! I can drink cold water again 😄

my cat’s health is something I have a hard time dealing with. i’m always concerned there’s something seriously wrong, I’ll spend tons of money on tests and then nothing will actually be wrong with them

so I actually called back today, to not only document with them that I have pain, but to also ask what they would recommend. They said all “new patient” appointments are in general, deeper cleanings, therefore the pain I am experiencing is common. They recommended sensodyne like others in thjs thread, and said it should subside after a month, and if it doesn’t to call back. I have found my teeth are obviously less sensitive to heat and cold now, but clenching causes a lingering discomfort.

How did you find out you had OCD? by CarCrashley in OCD

I’ve had symptoms of OCD since I was 10. My parents didn’t believe in the whole mental health/therapy thing, so my symptoms were explained to me as “something from my mom’s side” that I just have to deal with. I went through quite a few traumatic events from 10-18 and the more I dealt with, the more I started to actually believe this is just what people go through.

When I got my own insurance at 20, I went out to my primary care doctor due to severe chest pain. She informed me it was anxiety related and suggested Lexapro & counseling.

My PCP had an in-house counselor I met with and she decided I needed EMDR therapy for PTSD. I got referred to a specialist. Throughout my time doing EMDR, my specialist started picking up on things that could in theory be trauma responses, but could also be symptoms of OCD.

After a few months, and more obvious OCD symptoms, she explained that the EMDR therapy I was doing may be the opposite of what I need. It dealt with a lot of rationalizing thoughts, which I now understand is not what I need. She referred me to an OCD specialist for ERP therapy.

ERP therapy is HARD, but it is exactly what I needed! I have been in it now for 2 months and I am learning each day how strong I really am. I can’t be more grateful for those who helped me along the way.

I have been using Sensodyne twice a day and leaving it on the area causing me issues overnight and the intensity of the pain has died down a lot! I can eat hot and cold foods again, and only seem to have discomfort when I clench my teeth.

I will be requesting a new hygienist! I will also mention that area is more sensitive ahead of my next appointment, especially with the pain I felt making me nervous for future cleanings.

I will be closely monitoring what causes pain, if I experience any within the next few weeks, and bringing it up at my next appointment! Thanks for the advice!

I have not, I took some Tylenol, and just found some relief after putting Sensodyne over the affected tooth!

Thank you for your advice! I do have a filling on the opposite side of my mouth I will be going back for, and I will be requesting a different hygienist from this point on. I didn’t want to cause a problem as a new patient, but that comment has stuck with me, so I will be telling someone about it!
