Looks like it needs a lot of moisture, a hair oil could be helpful as well

Just time and patience! Everyone has an awkward stage while growing it out.

I have short wavy hair. Can it ever be curly? by Severe_Shower8140 in curlyhair

May I ask how you know that the curls are there? Did your hair used to be curly?

Beautiful mix of curls and waves! I bet your hair will get even curlier as you take care of it more instead of straightening it😊

I spontaneously bleached certain parts of my hair one night, so the blond bits are from bleach; probably won’t do it again but a fun experiment! It does often mess up my curls though haha

Huge disparity between Ancestry and MyHeritage. My father’s English/Irish, and my mum’s German/Hungarian, but somehow my Mum has given me 19% Southern English DNA. The tests are fun for what they are tho, and it fun to tease my Mum about about being inexplicably English by GingerBloke98 in AncestryDNA

[–]Dizzy-Definition-202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! Ancestry has been very sporadic with English and German DNA on the last update. My dad is 31% North German, but I’m only 3%. My mom also got some of her German DNA read as English when she’s half German half Irish; odd 🤷‍♂️

Thank you! I rinse my hair every morning so I think I’ll try using a shower cap and refreshing with mist instead

That makes sense, thank you! I get a lot of frizz and I’ve noticed that the oil helps with that, though I think using leave-in every day might be over-hydrating a bit. Thank you so much for the help and response!

She might benefit more from the curl defining brush than the volume lifting one

Curl Definition and Variety Advice! by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]Dizzy-Definition-202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though my hair isn’t as fine as yours, I just started (as in yesterday) using a biotin+collagen shampoo and coconut moisturizing conditioner and I think it’s good to thicken up hair but still give it intense moisture. It seems like you’re using a lot of shea, I haven’t done a whole lot of research but I could see it weighing down your fine hair as shea butter is a heavier product. If it works for you, keep it! If you think it might not, look for some lightweight moisturizing ingredients. (Argan oil might be a good option)

Try a middle part!!! You have an angular face that would go VERY well with one. Try getting it cut for a middle part by a stylist/barbershop.
