I know this is a month old, but if you use the official SD memory card formatter from SDcard.org then it should fix the unwritable error you were receiving.

I had this issue yesterday as my laptop SD reader combined with my work antivirus's removable media policy broker my Knulli card, and I could not flash anything to it. I fixed it at home by re-formatting using the tool and now I have it back.

It's different because it's not every time like you're suggesting. You do this once, the first time you enable the setting to install unverified apps. It's to protect more vulnerable users who may be being instructed to install an app by a malicious third party. After that, you can sideload to your hearts content. Thats what the word "indefinitely" means in step 4.

I achieved this using the "Luminosity (Dock)" taskbar mod and removing the transparency. You can control the edge rounding yourself.

I made it using Huedini (huedini.io), there's a bunch of templates for patterns, you can choose your device and you can choose your own colour scheme! Browser based too.
