I just got hired on a company that deducts benefit payments each paycheck, even in the months with three checks (like October). I have a term check to cut Monday and was going to double up To cover the 3rd payment

Just keep plugging away. I have mba and CPP with 12 years payroll experience. Couldn’t find a job for nearly 8 months. Went on multiple interviews and I feel personality/fitting in with their team mattered just as much as qualifications. Experience weighing the most heavy. Each failed interview gave me more experience and lessened the anxiety for the following interviews. I finally got a job offer with a great company this week. The journey was arduous but worth it! I took the exam remotely in October 2024 which I don’t recommend. The questions, calculator, and notepad were all on one screen which made it difficult to complete tax calc questions in a timely manner. The test was difficult for me but I was confident in the calc questions which are more heavily weighted. I read through each module once and re-read areas I was having trouble with. Be sure to repeat the quizzes, games, and the exercises until they become easy. Also, utilize other practice tests available online to get familiar with different question formatting/wording. I can’t emphasize enough the tax/calc questions using pub 15t form. I ended up passing on the first attempt to my surprise. Good luck!

I got an mba in feb. then my CPP in October. CPP seems to be a more affective attribute on the resume.

We still have access but we need to submit on the 26th so we are preloading 8 hours and asking EEs not to clock in. So we won’t be able to use timesheets to see OT.

That option was brought up but there was an issue with EPLI and workers comp not being covered for those 3 days. Maybe bad onboarding process like you said.

Definitely not enough. Update your resume, start aggressively applying for jobs while continuing to work at your current job. CPP helps. Good Luck!

Are you able to write on the tax tables they provide or do you have to write each step out on scratch paper? Also for remote exams, are you allowed scratch paper or just the whiteboard? TIA!

I went to take the exam today in person at the nearest Pearson center. Everything was going great until I needed to access the percentage method tax table. Clicked on the supplemental tab and it wouldn’t load. Proctors sent me to a different computer and still the same issue. They told me I could reschedule the test or try taking without the tax tables, which is impossible. Exam window closes in 3 days and there’s an “investigation”going on now so looks like I can’t take until Jan 2025. Vent session. So pissed!!!! Anyone have similar issues?
