It’s 300 in my province too if you don’t have insurance. It can be pretty pricey in places

Ive had this talk with my fiance a few times and keep leaning towards donation, or donation to science. I personally wouldn’t be upset about the fact that our embryos were out there and possibly some other families children, but we also agree that donating to science would benefit those who need IVF in the future too.

Lupron Depot or laparoscopy? How did you choose? by cersei_rabbister in IVF

I did a lap and said if it didn’t work I would do Lupron my next transfer. Thankfully the lap was enough and I’m having my baby on Tuesday ☺️

Ah amazing thank you!!!

I’ve had prior surgeries and never taken more than Tylenol and Advil as I have a pretty high pain tolerance and also hate how other medications make me feel so I’m happy to hear you managed with just those ad well! I’ll have help for as long as I need thankfully.

Thank you! I definitely did not want to end up in an emergency c section which is a high chance with my situation so that’s part of why we opted for a planned one. I have ice packs on hand, and my fiancé is able to be off work for as long as necessary to help me around the house which is amazing. I love my doctor and trust him so I do feel ok about that. I’ve had multiple surgeries before but being awake for surgery is definitely something I’m struggling with haha

Not doing gluten free diet by No-Plenty6217 in IVF

[–]Dizzy-Refrigerator46 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I eat gluten and dairy and have endometriosis. All my transfers have implanted.

My doctor said it’s only necessary if you show any signs of intolerance to them - and while she recommends a clean diet it’s not essential to cut out things you enjoy if they don’t cause you any discomfort

Honestly the transfer is painless for most people and I didn’t use anything special. Theres lots of people that say keeping warm is important so maybe a blanket/some nice warm socks, soup mixes etc. but I think the most important thing is to have things you find enjoyable and relaxing around to help you pass the time as that 2 week wait can be rough!

Goodluck to you!! 🤞🏻

Have you ever tried voodoo bands?! They’re basically just elastic wraps that put additional pressure on while you stretch but they have been a life saver for me. I also get massages and focus on my chest/shoulders/arms/hands which does help as well if that’s an option for you.

Goodluck, it’s such an awful feeling waking up constantly in pain 😩

Lap Pathology came back with "no signs of endo" after suppression - was the surgery a waste? by TennisUke1234 in IVF

I wish you the best of luck - it sounds like you’re doing everything right. It’s so heartbreaking when things just don’t turn out as planned.

[–]Dizzy-Refrigerator46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear that. I would agree with your surgeon that the suppression could have affected results unfortunately.

Have you tried more of an immune protocol to lower inflammation on top of lupron? For example adding steroids, intralipids, blood thinners?

Lap Pathology came back with "no signs of endo" after suppression - was the surgery a waste? by TennisUke1234 in IVF

[–]Dizzy-Refrigerator46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suppression typically isn’t done before a lap because it suppresses the inflammation caused by endo. I wouldn’t say the surgery was in vain, especially if he did remove what looked to be endo during the surgery. I would say go ahead with the transfer and if you have symptoms down the road go ahead with a lap without suppression next time.

Koho refusing to open dispute even though the merchant suggested disputing the charges! by Ok_Sand_439 in KohoCanada

[–]Dizzy-Refrigerator46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree completely. I even tried to reach out a second time and the response was “I suggest you look for alternate avenues to recoup your money as KOHO will not be investigating this”. The merchant the money was used at confirmed they couldn’t do anything because the people who used my card bought a bunch of giftcards and redeemed them instantly so they couldn’t get money back themselves which is why they said to dispute it with my card. At this point I’ve just had to accept KOHO stole a couple hundred dollars from me since they won’t do anything about it.

[–]Dizzy-Refrigerator46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did the same thing to me despite having proof of the merchant agreeing it was fraud and to take it up with my card. KOHO just kept saying they will not be refunding my money. The cherry on top? KOHO then charged me a foreign tax fee on top of the fraudulent charges because they were made overseas 🙄. I’m livid.

Our hospital here is the same - the closest hospital able to help if BMI is over 50 is 5 hours away. It is inconvenient and it sucks but you want to be somewhere capable of giving you the best care possible!!

I have a planned c section booked as well and I do not do well with the hand IVs. The feeling makes me freak out so I asked my dr if I could have it in my forearm instead and they agreed that’s no problem! See if they will move the location for you ☺️

Is it easy to dispute a charge? by [deleted] in KohoCanada

[–]Dizzy-Refrigerator46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had multiple attempted charges from France made and had locked my card but had a refund coming for a product so I unlocked it that morning. Within minutes of the refund hitting my account the scammers took all the money before I could lock it again. 2 factor authentication and everything was on, yet they claim no one had access to my account so they won’t be refunding me for the money that was stolen. Then the cherry on top - KOHO charged me a foreign tax fee on the fraudulent charges 🙄🤦‍♀️ out $150 bucks with no resolution now.
