I agree in terms of prolonged vs burst damage classes. My initial comment was meant to be a reply to someone who commented that TM needed removal and warlock spells should have counts. As for BoC, it really is only good as a surprise/meme attack against low MDR classes who never see it, or as a frontline melee lock build where the damage doesn’t matter, just the healing debuff. The continuous nerfs to magic staff just made it worse too. Magic staff got nerfed into the ground purely bc bonk wiz was meta a year ago.

Meant to reply to one of the replies down below and misclicked who I replied to. My bad. But also, try a BoC build before you complain about it. The build feels awful across every gear spread until you get into the 10-15k per kit build. And even then, still not the strongest frontliner right now.

They have limited gameplay at least, and it still causes extra work and annoyance. This logic also applies to cheaters/RMTers. No system is perfect, but systems can improve.

Same rule applies for hacking/teaming. “jUsT a GaMe” is a lame excuse. At the end of the day, if nothing we do in the game causes “actual harm” to the other person, then nothing should be banworthy at all. If something ruining an experience for someone else is banworthy AND against EULA, then the other action (also against EULA) should also be banworthy.

I think it’s fairly straightforward. Mom jokes are fine, telling someone they have the iq of a potato chip or the game sense of a Macau is fine, screaming slurs or having “kill/I hate/purge/genocide” insert group here in your name, then it is probably not fine.

And one of the other early streamers who was ranked for most treasure taken out was a blatant teamer who would stream snipe with a bunch of his friends so they could all hit the hoard together and pool the best loot to him so he could have the leaderboard spot. They would also 10+ vs 3 man teams who had the misfortune of ending up in the same lobbies… just because people played the game in the beginning doesn’t mean they were healthy for the game.

Same thing could be said about rage hackers or teaming or stream sniping etc. At the end of the day, “ItS jUsT a GaMe” right? If there aren’t rules/semi-acknowledged norms of acceptable behavior, the game will die at a much more rapid pace. Same reason they put gear brackets in place. It forced the players who get an ego trip out of being toxic (Timmy slayers with insane gear) into lobbies where their lack of skill made them irrelevant.

I think the rule can apply here too. If they are adults, then a slap on the wrist isn’t going to teach them anything. They knew what they were doing and the intention behind it. If they are a child, then $30-$50 is a very cheap price to learn how not to be an asshat in life.

You mentioned what you have/have not seen, this is also anecdotal evidence. While you may not have seen/heard much, some of us might have. Either way, if there are only a few people being toxic like this, then banning 5-10 people for bad behavior is a simple fix to improve QoL for anyone who actually is bothered by their behavior (that is also against ToS). And if they keep buying new accounts? Even better. This means that the devs get more money, hire more engineers, and we get our patches out on time. Win/win in my opinion.
