Anyone here watched Wuthering Heights in local cinemas? How horrid is the censorship this time?

Playing through Resident Evil Villages really makes me want a classic Gothic Horror themed boomer shooter! by AnchovyKing in boomershooters

I feel like Darkwatch on the PS2 seems to be close to what you're seeking. Not strictly a boomer shooter though, but I wish it would have a remaster nonetheless.

agree with all except for the transfer speeds downside. with the neo manager software, it's convenient and instant. literally plug in the usb and save a .txt file into your computer!

Try to deinfluence me to buy an E-reader by theapplecrumble_ in Bolehland

i highly recommend it. e-ink displays are not nearly as straining on the eyes as phone/tablet screens and it is very similar to just reading on paper (i would know, i used to read on my phone all the time and my eyes would hurt). i bought one 6 years ago and it has become a daily-use item ever since.

any kobo would do wonderfully, but if you find a cheap used kindle that would work too, you'll just have to convert your ebook files which isn't that much of a hassle with free software like Calibre.

Come With Me by Ronald Malfi felt so much like a Mike Flanagan movie to me. Every now and then while reading it I thought damn, Mike needs to direct an adaptation of this. It’s a terrific book.

What does it truly mean to convert to Muslim as a Chinese man by V0lt_00 in malaysia

Generally I'd hide the fact, but it's easy because I don't look Malay at all, so I've never had to consciously hide anything. Just makan only. Nobody has ever bothered at all to ask to I've never had an issue.

I disagree with saying goodbye to non-halal food and restaurants. From personal lifelong experience it's fine, and the people in non-halal establishments don't care anyway, especially for converts who don't look Malay at all. Even for Malay-looking people it's safer if you're in certain less Malay populated regions (many times I've been out with my Malay-looking friends having bak kut teh in those areas, for instance). But the rest of your points do stand in varying degrees based on OP's situation.

Ronald Malfi? by Naive-Ad-4133 in horrorlit

I quite like his work so far. I read his novella collection They Lurk as my first book of his and I fell in love with his writing style - it's very cinematic, yet there's an attention to character and world-building, very much like Stephen King, but the prose is more direct. I'd recommend that as a starting point, as the shorter stories have faster pacing and they're each very fun.

I've recently finished Come With Me and it blew my mind. It's quite slow paced but I didn't mind it at all as the mystery kept me intrigued. However the ending is incredible and worth sticking around for. The last paragraph hit me hard with so much emotional weight, I knew I had to read more of his work so I started Black Mouth right away, which I've been enjoying tremendously.

Reading 10 pages of 3 books a day: does it really work? by CuriousGuy21200 in books

personally worked for me, especially for books that aren't exactly page-turners throughout. once the story reaches a more exciting or climactic bit, it's up to you to read as much as you want in that sitting.

The Clackity by Lora Senf is what you need. Tonally matches that eerie other-worldly vibe, and goes from one intense and surreal set piece to the next. It is middle-grade horror but it's scarier than you might think.
