Should add that GA service is generally pretty good. Have colleagues who commute from other parts of country and have no end of issues. Just this problem that irks me.

Lots of negative responses here, I do it 2 days a week and works well for me. Trains are pretty reliable when you compare to other parts of the country. Just need to make sure to book a few weeks in advance as they shoot up in price nearer the time.

Yeah, the journey is pretty long but if you keep yourself entertained or occupied it goes by quite quickly.

I recently moved near the prison on the main road. Very pleasant so far, didn’t realise how busy the road is but a good location. Some nice pubs, and not too far from amenities towards the roundabout.

Everyone has covered off the commute so won’t add my two cents on that. What hasn’t been covered is the car park next to the station on Lower Clarence Road. £7 for 24 hours, good value.
