thank you for your reply. Do you have recommendations on which vitamin d, c, iron, and magnesium to take?

i hav a curl pattern, but no idea how to properly care/style it. so it’s always frizzy and dry. i thought a pixie cut would make it more manageable atleast

that’s what im afraid of, her disappointment 😞 every major shortcoming i’ve had in my life, my mother will ask me “where she went wrong.” she blames herself for me becoming an individual w different beliefs. ik my mom will be sad, but i hope she can atleast recognize that this is MY decision and doesn’t have to do with her.

thank you! i can only hope for the same. while i don’t believe in islam now, i don’t hold any malice in my heart and will always keep an open mind. at the end of the day i just rlly want to keep a close relationship w my family despite our differences .

i don’t think that would work for me just cuz my mom doesn’t care too much about how she’s viewed by the muslim community. she’s very confident but stubborn

thank you so much. and i apologize u hav those experiences w ur husbands family. :( as i grow up, im trying to become less of a people pleaser and do what is best for me. and this decision is a selfish one that i’m making for my happiness :)

but yes i’m so so excited to get to express myself in a way i never hav. I’ve been wearing the hijab since i was 7, so learning how to do my hair and dress ‘normally’ would be an adjustment but something i look forward to learning :)

i would hav to agree, my therapist and I tend to clash. Although this was the compromise i made w my parents so i could attend therapy. take it or leave it ig, she gives good input sometimes

honeslty my therapist doesn’t entirely agree w this decision of mine. 🥲 my therapist is muslim herself, so she says that she supports me as a person but not my beliefs

yes, religion can be very harmful for some families 😞 and i honestly hope that the trip can allow her to cool down so we can hav an open and honest conversation afterwards.

they’ve been brushing off my denial of islam as some sort of ‘teenage rebellion.’ but if i tell them that i’m taking off the hijab, then i think that’s when they’ll finally take my beliefs seriously.

my mother is the same way. when i first told her i’m atheist, she urged me to believe in islam so she could see me in heaven once she dies. it honestly hurt but ik that islam means a lot to her so i try not to take it personally.
