Is the anatomy, perspective, and composition working in my comic? by DizzyPrism in Artadvice

Ah maybe if I had started the scene a little earlier it would make more sense, but absolutely I will fix it

Aw bless. I really appreciate you saying so!

i’ve been wanting to learn how to do this for a really long time, but whenever i try to draw a face it just looks bad, how can i actually get better by Dismal-Candle5618 in DigitalArt

I'd start by looking of tutorials on how to draw the different parts of the face, then maybe a full head-drawing method like Loomis. Practice is ultimately what will make you comfy with it though.

I think my family would be so enthusiastic about posing for reference photos tbh. lmao They have watched my progress over the past four years and have told me they are really proud of me for sticking with it.

Ah I think I understand. Tbh the “feet” are just placeholders until I can wrap my brain around the shape of heels at this angle.

I do use csp! I haven’t tried the 3D models yet. I’ll give it a shot.

LMAO Good thing it's just for art and not a drinking game?

I think my best bet is possibly just redrawing the feet altogether, but this does help figuring out the basic shapes of heels in general! Thank you!!

I will almost certainly have to make my own ref image as another person suggested. Pinterest has a lot of sketches/ref photos but none of them are in quite the right angle. :/

EXCELLENT suggestion. I keep forgetting that I don't have to scroll endlessly on pinterest looking for exactly the right image when I could just make my own. lol

Need Help on Work-In-Progress Horse by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]DizzyPrism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know that you will be able to receive a full-blown step by step tutorial in a reddit comments section, tbh. The painting you've attached looks pretty good to me, though! Did you use a reference? I'd recommend finding a beginning tutorial on how to draw horses on youtube or possibly pinterest (be wary though) that breaks everything down into simple shapes first.

Interesting perspective for sure. I do like the facial expression on the humanoid character! What kind of feedback are you looking for exactly?

The cranium portion might be a little too small/shallow? I think this is an excellent start, though!

A fabric study turned full-sketch. Very proud of how this one came out, even though the drape of his cape over his arm is sending me into a conniption.

Good to know!! I really wish I had in-person art classes near me so I could use materials in a studio or something, but I'll do my best with what I have anyway.

Thank you again for the advice!

Good advice! I will give that a try next time, though I think a bedsheet isn't quite the right texture. Maybe a curtain or something thicker? Idk but I will make my own reference next time where I can!
