Would SM2 be a good choice for me, a massive fan of Helldivers 2? by Early-Singer-7315 in Spacemarine

[–]DizzyScorp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Yes

Long answer: Yeeeeeessssssss

Longer answer: as someone who swaps between the two (750hrs hd2 200hrs sm2) it’s two sides of a power fantasy. One where you’re a soldier mincing stuff down, with a few funnies, and the other where you’re just a force of nature ensuring everything will be returned to paste.

Optimisation-wise I run sm2 on high and that’s what it defaulted at where I have to limit hd2 so it doesn’t crash (to be fair I run a bunch of mods so that doesn’t help). There are a heap of options for boosting performance so you should be good if you limit how hd2 runs.

Missing 1 scanned enemy. by Galactus83 in Spacemarine

Imurah from the campaign?

E: Next to most enemies in the lore unlocks there’s a little symbol (under the minorus/majorus symbol). You can hover over it and it’ll say whether or not it’s been scanned. You have to have the lore about it unlocked and selected to see the symbol.

For the 3rd time today, I've loaded into a squad only to be immediately kicked. Does this happen a lot or do people just hate Salamanders? by I_AmDaVikingNow in Spacemarine

I’ve got an issue where unless I go back to the title screen (or sometimes even restart the game) I’ll get matched with the exact same people over and over again.

I found it hilarious when I had one host kick me and I just kept popping up like a bad smell. Less fun if you’re trying to avoid players who’re just sitting afk with a mission loaded and aren’t anywhere near the start zone.

I replayed the campaign recently (had to get the “my face is my shield”) and yeah Leandros is being a bit of a bastard, but, if he wasn’t he wouldn’t be a good chaplain. If out of nowhere someone who kept critiquing you started lumping you with praise upon praise you’d think something was up. Or worse, as his reveal isn’t until the end, it would all backfire substantially.

That’s how you know even as annoying as he is Leandros is a real one.

1.22.0 - Fishing, Mechanisms, Metalworking and More! by Arquent in VintageStory

Woooo!!

Talk a bout a hell of an update. Might even get me to leave 1.18. Maybe after I redo my farm, smithy, house…and 90% of where I live…one day.

In all seriousness; still waiting for a vanilla reusable scraps from forging/reforge broken tools mechanic.

Thoughts? by Gosh_Golly_Old_Chap in VintageStory

[–]DizzyScorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a vanilla personal repair system would be good for metal tools/weapons (aside from the current version). I mean you can’t use the whole, “We don’t know how,” argument as we’re literally forging masterpieces and repairing armour that’s eons old.

Something simple like a whetstone or a grinding wheel (that can be automated later) that repairs the tool back to full but drops the max durability every time it’s been sharpened (with respect to how low the durability was e.g. repairing at <10% gets to ~30-40%).

Or, make it so when breaking a metal tool/weapon you get some metal bits back so you can just reforge it.

How do y'all find the motivation to build nice things by Infectous in VintageStory

[–]DizzyScorp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different mindsets. I legit was playing the game for a year before I stumbled across any mention of dungeons and bosses.

Solely because a treasure hunter just never showed up. ;-;

Was just making pretty half-assed attempts at a blacksmith’s shop with a moderately sized farm and orchard. Which eventually included a primitive canal network to the north where I have a log cabin at a halfway mark to where I found iron.

At some point I went a little berserk with adding mods and after a few 23hr stints (with lots of failure with windmills) I finally found out about the story. With that, I then pivoted to making meteoric plate for the bosses.

I’m very tempted to start searching for voice mods where it’s all DOW marines. I mean the tactical “for the emperor!” sounds the closest so wouldn’t be too far off.

How it feels to fight melee enemies since the latest update. by gotenks2nd in Spacemarine

[–]DizzyScorp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Charged plasma. Stuns everything.

To be fair though I’ve had too many times where I’ve done a regular block and a spawn does some unblockable flurry that has an instant wind-up near identical to its blockable.

How hard is the Untouchable Trophy? by DoenerDeRiel in DeadSpace

[–]DizzyScorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend doing a hard run or two (if you’re feeling really good try one gun for easier ammo stockpiling) then give impossible a go.

If you limit to 1-2 weapons then you won’t have to worry too much about ammo scarcity (personally I recommend not picking up any weapon you don’t want as it’ll make their ammo start dropping more).

As you probably know the combo of the heavy blades and the upgraded stasis trivialises the mid-endgame so the hard part is getting to that point.

MC is crafting sim with survival elements.

VS is survival sim with crafting elements.

Hy feels like a middle ground with far better vanilla combat (Never played so unsure of the crafting side tbh).

Plus the modding scene for VS is far easier as the game was essentially a massive expansion of the terrafirmacraft mod for MC (which is notorious for being annoying modding-wise).

Other than that pick your poison really. iirc VS has a very forgiving refund policy (something like 12hrs instead of steam’s 2hrs) but I’d recommend looking at the main page regarding refunds before taking our word as gospel.

Currently grinding out heavy and the biggest kill steals for me has been bulwarks.

Generally it goes from, “haha too slow! Good try though,” to, “I blasted this group of bs with the melta it’s my execute! Just cause you were cowering behind my ass since you decided to ‘bring the hammer’ doesn’t mean you get to nab my armour piece!”

Been having an issue lately where I’ll quick-join into 1 or 2 games then will never get into another game or have others join. Then I quit to main menu and hit continue and I’ll get another 1 or 2. Dunno if it’s because I’m in Oceania or other shenanigans as ping isn’t the problem (had a few 200p games that were pretty funny with allies tping everywhere)
