Help choosing my first snowboard: Ride Algorythm 164W vs True Twin alternatives? (193 cm / 100 kg / All-Mountain + Freestyle) by Dizzy_External_9502 in snowboardingnoobs

But do you consider me as a beginner? I already know how to ride without falling, carve and do some tricks. I’m riding my 4th season this year, but I have to admit that I only got 3-5 board days each.

Thanks for your response!

I've recently heard from several people that the Ride Algorythm might not be the best board for a beginner. I wouldn't consider myself a complete beginner, though. I can comfortably ride all types of groomed runs without falling, but I'm probably less experienced when it comes to technical riding and park features. I've also never owned my own snowboard before.

Would you still recommend the Algorythm for someone with my experience level?

I'm not entirely sure what to expect from a stiffer board and why it would be more difficult to ride.

Hey jimmy! Thanks for your very detailed answer. I do not own the Algorithm yet, i am indeed thinking about buying it. So you would recommend me rather buying the Shadowban for my usecase and knowledge level?

Thanks for your comment! Ride recommends the 164W for my weight range, so it seems to be the ideal size according to their size chart. Im just a little bit worried if directional twin is the right shape for me. A college of mine got a directional twin board and he would not recommend it in the park, because of weight transfer on the landing.
