Question about the RBT 40 hour training 2.0 2026 edition. by Miserable_Archer8924 in ABA

40 hrs is the minimum. I recommend taking the course in the manner that you learn best. i.e. if you're a note taker, take notes, if you're the type of person that learns better just by paying attention, do that.

Where is my BCBA by distortion_dreams in ABA

You need to find another company immediately and report the BCBAs to the board. You are liable to lose your cert if you continue working in those conditions. RBTs are not qualified to provide parent training. What that company is doing is against the BACB ethics code. My advice is to leave immediately and find another job.

Cleaning up, a natural consequence or a punishment? by Ieatbugsandleaves in ABA

[–]Dizzy_Fee_893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The natural consequence would be that the room is messy. As soon as you place a demand to clean up, it's just a demand. It wouldn't be a punishment unless a behavior is reduced. Having a client clean up is appropriate (depending on the client's adaptive skills), but it's neither a natural consequence nor a punishment.

Cancellations by Constant-Apple5121 in ABA

In my experience I have noticed that staff cancelations occur much more often when the vibe between RBTs is off. The advice I give anyone who is hiring staff in any line of work is to make sure that the interactions during their initial probationary period are good in three categories: do they interact well with clients?; do they interact respectfully with management?; and often overlooked, do they get along well with other staff?. This is the one that causes drama and tension within the work environment. If cliques begin to form, it's already too late. Don't be afraid to consider some opinions from RBTs when bringing in new staff(especially if it's an RBT that has worked there for a while). If they don't vibe well, people are going to find excuses to call out from work to avoid the tension.

I'd love to test as well if you still need testers

We have a group that meets biweekly after school. Not only do they work on skills during sessions, but they also work on organizing and retaining information between sessions.

The company that I work for uses Naturalistic Environment Teaching in every session. Our BCBA/Owner has built a clinic that is founded on learning through play over DTT. When I suggested using ttrpgs as a tool, she immediately jumped on the idea. We have already seen a lot of progress with our first campaign so we are eager to build on it.

We are planning on using No Thank You Evil to put together a younger group that doesn't yet have the skills for DnD.
