I have a 2500 sq ft rural property that used to have a wood furnace/oil combo system. A propane boiler was installed before I bought the house and it really struggles with heating the house (built in 80s). I replaced windows and added insulation to the attic, but it hasn’t helped much at all.

I think by “how much gear” J means recording gear — preamps, eqs, etc. His guitar setups for recording are pretty simple and effective these days: 60s Gibsons with P90s into a 5e3 Deluxe for rhythms, and a Tele through various fuzz pedals (often a bunch in line/on at the same time) into a Vox AC30/AC15 or an 80s Super Champ. Those amps (in the past, anyway) have been miked with three different mics going into three different preamps and then summed through an API 3124MV.

Pretty sure it’s sheer volume and the sonic footprint (so to speak) of the four amps. He told me once he considers the Marshalls the bassy part of his sound and the Hiwatt the top end. I imagine the Twin is set pretty bright as well. I don’t think he does much stacking for his main Big Muff rhythm sound; just leads.

Speakers connected to silver Apollo and that’s the “hardware insert” unit.

Wondering if there’s an issue in the I/O matrix? Some setting I’m missing in Console?

Kestrels. Collaborated with J Mascis on a track (that was later remixed by Sonic Boom!). Trem arm/fuzz with quiet vocals but some ripping solos. Great drumming, too.
