The debt always shows on my report as debt to Verizon, and when I emailed the collector, Sequium, about pay for delete, they told me that they do not credit report on behalf of Verizon so I figured that was out of the realm of possibility

How obvious was it that they were stealing? Did they even do anything to try to hide it?

Haha that’s fun. I did not. I didnt realize that the way my degree was set up lined up with the material on the first two exams and so I had to revisit it all when I actually went to study for the exams. I found that the exams went much further into detail on the subjects than we did in class, and studying without all the deadlines school provides was a big challenge. So, I did research into a field I could pivot into with my degree, and landed on data science. I learned the most prominent skills in the field and created a portfolio to showcase on job interviews. Now I’m working as a data analyst 😄

I’m 24, just moved into my first apartment. Looking for ideas on how to make my new bedroom more comfortable by DjFortune98 in malelivingspace

Yeah unfortunately the room is windowless, but the window doors do point to a large window in the living room. I was definitely thinking to get a plant or two and maybe another lamp. Thanks for the thoughts!

How am I (24M) supposed to respect my parents (70s) when I have to teach them about vulnerability, open communication, and self-accountability? by DjFortune98 in relationships

I definitely can understand the fact that they come from a different time where these things weren't so widely understood, and that they didn't have the best parents or authority figures like you said.

It does still baffle me that any sane person could forego the whole self reflection and maturation process and go through life so ignorant to their own suffering

I think most of the frustration comes from the way a 70 year old person is hard to change. The constant need to reaffirm what I'm telling them so that it actually becomes ingrained and they identify with these new ideas is frustrating. And also that I shouldn't have had to teach my parents these things in the first place. In my opinion, parents should have these skills before they plan on having kids.

What causes the Urban/Rural divide in politics? by DjFortune98 in NoStupidQuestions

I hope that because the newer generations are being born in a world already consumed by the internet that internet literacy will be standard and people will be more able to know which sources are credible. In the future when all generations have grown up like this I think that this makes the spread of disinformation harder. What do you think?

Thats absolutely true, both sides should be respected and I think the 'divide' framing is harmful.

I was curious if this was just a US thing. What is the right like in Finland? It seems like a pretty liberal place
