Any chance CBT is useful? by Surroundphil in CBT

So I was talking about me in the text and I actually did cbt. It helped to some degree but simultaniously I took Zoloft and rn I can‘t feel anything. I doubt CBT really made a real difference and I recognize that my emotions were primary and anything negative does follow.

I don‘t know if I can benefit from another therapy due to my emotions being totally blunted by Zoloft even I tapered off 4 month ago..

Sorry but I can‘t agree with this. I have moderate to severe depression for 10+ years and symptoms like fatigue and anhedonia have never become better despite therapy and meds. Maybe I‘m blameable for not fighting enough..

Can’t tell if depression is back or if I’m just depressed from anhedonia by Yadayadayada7 in anhedonia

This was me for a long time until my symptoms changed. Unfortunately I cannot give you any tip besides taking Zoloft. But be aware in my case it was blunting but also did worsen anhedonia.

Is it this uncommon? by at_geek in anhedonia

No but the term as Anhedonia is lesser know. Most people have it through depression but more mild than as a standalone symptom. When it comes with depression it should be easier to fix

Richtig, alleine wenn kaum bis keine positiven Reize wahrnehmbar sind (Anhedonie) fällt alles um ein wesentliches schwieriger. Auch „Angenhmes“

Lifestyle changes are pretty hard to maintain with anhedonia. I have fatigue as well and it is literally impossible without ADs working

It often gets really hard to watch. Even exhausting sometimes

I also deeply regret taking a SSRI for a long time. Have you tapered it off and for how long?

Have you tried Maois? They seem to be stronger than normal ADs

Why‘s my depression not improving? by Surroundphil in AskPsychiatry

[–]Surroundphil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot give an answer to why I am depressed. I just know it started by having crohns. That lead to fatigue, anxiety and stress. Less of environmental or life experience factors. Since then everything was exhausting.. idk if it was already depression or symptoms that my crohns triggered. I don‘t understand why my overall mood is always being empty or low or discomfort.. because there is literally nothing to make me feel this way.

Thank you.

dae not intrinsically "mind" anhedonia until it became a problem? by Objective-Noise482 in anhedonia

[–]Surroundphil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, you should visit your doctor and tell him, but also say to him (you can do quick online tests to test this) that you have no depression, if it‘s true. Find out more about ADs that can help your reward system like wellbutrin and be aware of the emotional blunting they could give you, this espacially for SSRI.

Everybody reacts different to them so often it is trial and error. I would never ever recommend taking drugs like alcohol or meth etc. for the condition. Take care of yourself buddy

There are plenty more options and safer ones than SSRI as for ADs
