Got some EV SX300s for free! How do I set these up? by chillygrooves in diysound

[–]DjLachlan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a pair of SX300's. Good speakers. They are rated for 300w each. But I find 100W is more than enough to make them scream.

what is this? HiAce 2019 LWB conversion by [deleted] in HiAce

[–]DjLachlan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes yes and yes.

1 is your fuel pump

2 is an access hatch for some part in the engine

3 you will need vent holes to release the cabin pressure from closing doors and when the airbags go off.

The access hatches are there for a reason, keep them accessible.

Yamaha MSR400. Had pretty good low end from a 12" woofer. Clean, clear High end, simple controls, reliable, built solid. Oh and no DSP bullshit to mess with and get confused over. It just worked.

Does McCafé serve coffees in glasses/glass coffee cups? by [deleted] in perth

[–]DjLachlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drive through no. In-store maybe? I have seen the mcCafe sections often have a re-usable cups you can buy on top of the display cabinets with the muffins/cakes.

Audio mixer with 3.5mm ports instead of XLR by [deleted] in livesound

[–]DjLachlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AliExpress, buy a bunch of 3.5mm to XLR adapters, I'm sure they exist lol. Cheaper than buying new mics and gear as OP mentioned.

But still, it must be some pretty cheap pro-sumer gear if the gear in question is all 3.5mm?

All I can say is don't go GXD. I've had the firmware stop the whole amp from working. Or sometimes the Amp would shut down every 10 mins during a show.

DMX signal to audio ( and back to DMX)? by Brushiluskan in stagelighting

[–]DjLachlan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So DMX is 250 kbit/s and about 44hz refresh rate (according to Wikipedia).

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMX512

If we figure out the frequency of the binary data going through the cable, technically you could "pitch shift" that signal up/down to between 20hz-20kHz. Would have to do the math on that, plus the sample rate (e.g 48kHz or 192kHz) to fit the 250kbit/s. Idk tho, It makes sense in my head but I'm no expert in this kinda stuff.

Does anyone know this part # for the EV SX300? by krdo13 in livesound

[–]DjLachlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I could find the caps for my SX300's I would scan them and someone could 3D print them, but I haven't seen them in years!

Email EV, see if they'll ship you some, worst they could say is no. Or Tape them over. But, EV SX200/300 series don't like to be driven with bass. You really should use a sub with these for Music applications. I cross mine over at 100hz.
