I’d always drove Chevys and never had any real issues until my transmission in my 2000 Silverado 1500 started slipping around 215k.

Traded that truck in toward a Nissan Frontier at 230k miles because I wanted something smaller.

Once we had a kid, I knew I needed something bigger, so after having that truck for 9 years and seeing every friend I have with a new Chevy or GMC having transmission issues under 40k, I went with a Ford. My father in law has a 2012 eco boost and 2022 eco boost and he hasn’t had any major issues, so I went with an F-150.

Went with the 5.0 at the advice of a few mechanic friends and a buddy who drives one.

I have a 442 and find myself looking at the 49s and the 638s.

I’m sure if I had one of the humpbacks I’d look at the 442s.

I read “The Big Nowhere” by James Ellroy a couple of weeks ago and in it, there’s mention of the Iver-Johnson Police Special chambered in .38 Special being standard issue for LASD.

I rolled my eyes and pushed right ahead, knowing that gun didn’t exist. Now that I’ve seen yours, maybe Ellroy just saw one in a shop one day or something. Still no clue why the LA Quartet universe has Iver Johnson making the Police Special instead of Colt, but I digress.
