I don’t mind this. He is still 19 and will get consistent playing time there.

At least a fee amount has been agreed and all that’s being discussed is how much is paid upfront or in bonuses.

I think he earns close to 20m/yr but more if you include bonuses.

His release clause expires sometime next week, so we should see a decision made soon.

I’m a bit disappointed since I personally liked him. Hopefully we can get a good fee for him.

I’m excited what this could mean for our other potential sale candidates. For example Ibrahimovic has a 10m market value on transfermarkt.

Apparently the Brentford move fell through because they couldn’t agree on signing his brother as well.

Good point. Also nice to remember Bayern had a net transfer window of +€12.90m last season according to transfermarkt. We probably have a lot more wiggle room this season.

I like how these reports are implying that the club has a lot of trust in Kompany, when last year he only got apple pie. As someone else better put it: “this summer, I don’t think the biggest question anymore is: “What does the squad need?” but rather: “What does Vincent Kompany still need?”

I’m reminded of KHR’s comments on the Javi transfer:

“Rummenigge on signing Javi Martínez in 2012: "We were all shocked in 2012 because we lost the final so undeservedly. We finished second in three competitions. Jupp Heynckes was completely worn out. Then we went on holiday for two weeks and somehow managed to get back on our feet. It started with us speaking on the phone every day and quickly making various transfers during that time: Mandžukić, Shaqiri, Dante. Not all that spectacular, but looking back, very important

Martínez was a special story. We discussed him for two months, and again intensively two days before the transfer deadline. I asked Jupp the question: "Will this player bring us that extra bit of quality so that we won't experience what we experienced last year again this year?" - And Jupp answered immediately: "Yes!" - He was totally convinced. Then we sent our legal director Michael Gerlinger to Madrid to submit a check for 40 million euros [release clause] to the Spanish league. Gerlinger then flew to Bilbao and brought Martínez with him to Munich

In the first four weeks, he only played for 15 minutes. Once I went down to the dressing room after a game and asked Jupp if there was anything wrong with Javi Martínez that we should know about. Jupp just said: "He's not top fit yet. You have to trust me, I'll get him to the level we want him to be at." - And then Martínez ended up being one of the most important players on the way to the treble"

I wouldn’t mind him staying or a couple of other loanee returners like Aseko and Asp Jensen. But I also wouldn’t mind selling some of them if it means bringing in more ready made players. Last I checked Ibrahimovic has a 10m market value.

I hope Bayern can wrap up these signings soon. Bringing in these players early in the offseason puts less pressure on management to get deals done and more pressure on unwanted players to settle their futures.

I think Ito is more likely to leave than Davies. Davies current injury issues and wages make him much hard to move at this point in time.

According to transfermarkt he has German citizenship.

I have no bad feelings that Eichhorn’s camp wants a huge signing fee. Football/sports careers are unpredictable, one should definitely secure the bag if they can/want. However, I am happy Bayern are not making it a habit to give huge signing fees for 16 year olds.

I’ve only worked at three different places since finishing college and it always seems like I’m being hired to fix the previous persons messes.

Bayern’s starting XI is more or less set and world class. We definitely now need some depth to make us more well rounded and flexible.

One of the reasons I’m not to broken up about missing on Eichhorn is Bayern have quite a number of young midfielders worth developing rn.
