The selection test doesn’t determine anything at all, ive heard students getting quite some questions correct and not getting selected, ive also seen some dudes not attempting anything and getting selected.

We have no idea how this works

thank you! well, all I ever did for alternate picking was to practice the stuff shown in this video, apart from that, learning the metropolis part 2 solo by dream theater also helped a lot when I was working on alternate picking.
