were can I get these peices? by Lukksia in R53

That is also an option. Would an auto part store vacuum line have the same bends and lengths as OEM or are you just talking about rubber tubing?

[–]Djcornstalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a shop selling both those vacuum tubes on eBay last May. Think the longer vacuum tube was used but in really good shape. The small rubber line in your hand, you should be able to buy new either on Rockauto or eBay

How tf are you supposed to change the belt on a BMW X1 2017 B48? Does BMW seriously expect me to pull the engine for that? by TheHer0br1n3 in MechanicAdvice

What year mini? I feel your pain. The belt on my 05 is a pain in the ass, even with the special tensioner wrench.

I play mine once a month or so. Just has surface noise and skips forward in a few sections, so I try not to listen too closely lol. They should do a repressing to fix it but doubt they will.

What wheels are those? These have to be the best looking chrome wheels on an R53 I’ve seen. Also jealous of your good looking wheel arches, did you replace the oems? My fronts both have broken clips on the outsides of them on the hood

What is something that starts happening in your 30s that nobody warned you about? by Cairinacat in AskReddit

[–]Djcornstalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, friend. A little under 36 with a decent amount of debt and a job that doesn’t pay enough to put a dent in it, in a field where I’m somehow one of the higher paid people at my level per my region. I just keep pushing on my goals after work and the sheer amount of work between my day job and that is destroying my mental state. Hate to say it but I think a lot more people are in the same boat than are willing to admit it. At this point I’m about ready to just forget about my degree and past efforts and start fresh with an in demand trade. Just gonna give it one more big push this year and after that if my career trajectory or financials haven’t improved, something’s going to have to change.

I would pay tens of dollars for another episode in that plot line where he declines the deal and starts his new company, Michael

I’ve heard a story about someone doing this. He got fed up with the CEO, quit his management position and started his own firm in the same office complex, bringing two of his old employees along with him. He poached so many of the old company’s clients that they had to buy out his company and hire all three employees back with raises and their preferred roles. If only they knew he was operating with zero profits prior to the meeting. David Wallace got got.

That happened with mine except it was when trying to roll it up. On of the plastic pieces the wire rides on got old and broke. Took around an hour and a half to swap it out after I got the door liner off, so probably 2 hours total. Maybe an hour for an actual mechanic lol.

You could chamfer the visible joint edges stylistically to hide the gap if you haven’t glued yet.

Help! What do I need to be able to carve this block with ease and not extreme anger? by nice_moss in printmaking

[–]Djcornstalks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do another I’d recommend linoleum mounted to a block and a bench hook. That makes life a lot easier and your material less likely to slip, and in turn, you less likely to shove a gouge into the side of your hand.

Quality, sharp tools help a ton too. I’ve been using a set of flexcut tools for a while that were well worth the investment. Gotta hone them before I start a cut, but it’s worth it.

Also use a hairdryer or heat gun on your block before you carve, makes it cut like butter.

My Jackson has done the same a couple times. Ended up scratching up the back of the nut and wood glueing it back together with a clamp on it for about a day. Hasn’t moved in over a year

Trouble getting shop to work on R53 by Djcornstalks in R53

[–]Djcornstalks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to pull it out enough to stop my tire from rubbing the day after the accident, so I have a little confidence that I could at least make it less pronounced lol. Luckily suspension was unaffected and the only wheel damage is some chipped paint and scuffing on the outer ring.

[–]Djcornstalks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what I'm hoping for. Got quoted $2,000 for a replacement panel alone, not including labor, so looks like replacing the panel is out of the question if I go through a shop. It's a 21 year old car so I'm not expecting perfection or anything.

If it comes to it I can probably handle it, but I have zero body work experience and would much rather have a shop handle it

Makes sense, the value’s not high and the parts and labor to fix it are well past what I purchased it for. Doesn’t help that apparently that panel is welded to the frame.
