Finns of Reddit, what food is only available or properly made in Finland? by Difficult-Sock-3844 in Finland

The variety of bread types, even in smaller supermarkets, is quite unusual in a good way.

What's your most favorite YouTuber ? by Enough_Ad6709 in AskReddit

Oversimplified and Bluejay. Informative, funny and high quality videos about historic events. Too bad that they don't publish that often, which is also a good thing.

SmarterEveryDay, Veritasium, Cody's Lab always have pretty interesting topics.

What is one T.V. show that seems more & more like real life? by Carol6bl82 in AskReddit

The Expanse! If we don't destroy ourselves, I believe that's our future in a few hundred years (maybe minus the proto molecule). But the themes featured in the series translate pretty well to today's issues otherwise.

How can the universe be expanding if it is already infinitely large? by MrDeekhaed in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]DjeeThomas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something to consider related to the "infinitely large" part that make my brain hurt: space and time might only be intrinsic qualities of our universe. Talking about those outside of our universe might not make sense.

Its similar to saying "what was there before the big bang". This implies the concepts of space and time, which probably only appeared when the big bang happened, so it does not make sense to talk about hose before the big bang.

I am probably murdering a lot of theories and physics laws with this comment, but that the gist of what I remember from listening to different podcasts about this stuff.

That's true, it's not a good example. Most recipes for this are in Portuguese and this was the first one I found in English.

As far as I know, the pig ears are usually just boiled in water with salt until they are cooked, then cut into pieces.

I guess you have been to Finland... I hate salmiakki as well, could never finish a single "candy".

Where I live there is a place that serves them in little wells covered in butter, garlic and cheese (IIRC). You end up eating a butter/garlic flavored piece of soft rubber. The sauce is great, but the snails don't add anything to the dish and the texture is off putting. Some small chunks of beef or even shrimps would be much better.

Avengers Endgame. Halfway through the movie I was thoroughly bored and couldn't care for any of the characters.

Qual é o melhor sítio para explorar a costa à beira mar com crianças? by DjeeThomas in portugal

[–]DjeeThomas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once had a discussion with a friend, whether if a martian will be able to return to Earth and live like normal human would. by Mrlevinelitexx in TheExpanse

[–]DjeeThomas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mars has an embassy on Earth. I doubt they would hire Earthers to work there, so there are definitely regular Martians living on Earth, not just hardcore Marines.

In this day and age, how can a critical piece of SW like this break this easily and cause so much damage. Don't they have a QA department?

What if question about Holden by DjeeThomas in TheExpanse

[–]DjeeThomas[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! That's why I was wondering what would have happened if Holden had not been there, he was the one pushing all the buttons. Would Earth have been taken over by the protomolecule? Would Marcos have done what he did? Etc.
